Default Comcast sucks!

Holy christ I can't even begin to understand how people put up with this dick hole of a company.

Multiple attempts to order online; fail.

Multiple phone calls to order over the phone; fail.

Finally gave up and went to their local branch and ordered a self install. They scrounge around on the floor and back shelf to find a "kit". The power adapter is Netgear, the modem is Cisco but whatever, the amps and watts match. I ponder how they'll fukc me over this detail when I try to turn it in down the road.

Their "techs" basically do a drive by, throw their wires at your house and speed off. I'm reminded of that scene from Grown Ups 2 where Chris Rock waits all day for the lady to hit the shitter then runs up and tags the door.

After they're gone, I go outside to inspect their high quality work. Their shitty cable is dangling off the side of my house. My shitty cable has had its F connector torn off. This is the only network I've ever seen that works by free air.

Comcast are a bunch of dick bags. The only organization I can think of right now that's worse is TSA.

And don't say Congress. That's a given!

Comcast is the worst. Horrible prices for the crap you have to go through. My parents went through a similar deal as you, and I know not one person that likes comcast.

i have had Comcast for years and have been happy so far. their interwebz has been dependable and the few times I've had them to my house they did a good job.
their basic cable is way over priced but all TV is way over priced to me and that's why i cut that and have a digital antenna for TV.
but for $40 a month (what i pay) for internet only, it's a good dependable connection that i have had minimal problems within the last 10 years or so. i do feel the interwebz i'm getting for $40 a month could be a little faster but........

i ditched their modem and got this:

after i installed the Motorola modem/router there was a noticeable difference in page load time and the range on the WiFi covers my entire property. (4 city lots) without a problem.

i also had no problem returning the POS Comcast modem. i just called them and they told me where to drop it off and did not charge me past the day of it's return. also, the aftermarket modem auto detected through Comcast so the install was simple.

i rented the POS Comcast modem for years. wish i would have went with the unit i ended up purchasing years ago.

either way, i'm happy because they have been very reliable thorough the years and i have had minimal problems.

Just had another issue today. Had basic Internet only installed New Year's Eve 2012 and have got 2 bills. First on was wrong and second was a shut off notice. Internet was shut of this morning, they called around 3. I explained I don't pay the bill my company does and it does not get payed until a bill is received. The lady told me it must be my fault somehow. She said she would email the last three months to me in 5 min. It's been almost 12 hours.

I had a similar experience with Charter years ago. Except they never sent the bills they claimed they would send, and I was sending them payments and stopping in and making payments even though I'd never get a bill. They eventually sent me to collections but I had produced every cancelled check and every receipt from their office so they dismissed it. I cancelled their service and then a few years later I got another call from a collections agency for Charter. Reproduced the same documentation and called Charter direct to see WTF. Their rep said they "restored from backup" and were having a lot of these type of calls to go through. But even with all that, Charter was still better than Comcast.

Yep, cable companies screw you in every way possible.
So you pay 39.99 for monthly internet but you have to rent the modem by the month or go buy your own(so whats the 39.99 pay for)

You get cable, but have a HDTV, you need to pay for hi def service at an extra cost, and you have to rent a hi def receiver orDVR of course those will cost you an extra 30 a month or so.

Yep Comcast is the worst company I think I have ever dealt with, switched to AT&T U-Verse about 5 years ago and has been excellent with great customer support (changed plans and a few times).

I've had to use Comcast 4 or 5 different times at different places I live. They are indeed horrible. Usually when a service guy shows up, he takes care of everything, but their phone tech support makes me want to punch babies.
