Default thinking about buying

This:

Looking at $9K.........
20,000 original miles, literally like new but was hit and the drivers door isn't aligned "perfectly" but not all that bad either.

Weather or not you like the car is not the question,...........whats the opinion of the value ?

Who's selling it, Gas Monkey Garage? It's cool, but it's only worth what someone is willing to spend on it. I'd think about half what they're asking

One word...PIMP!

Personally, I don't see $9K there but maybe that's just me. I know this style is becoming more popular with the collector crowd. Have started seeing them at car shows and the like. I am thinking more along the $4000-$6000 maybe $7000-$8000 if there is some rare package and the thing is perfect.

You got me all wrong. I love that car. I just wouldn't pay 9k for it. As for the door it is likely hinge pins. If the hinges are wasted I have welded up the holes before and redrilled new ones making the hinges like new again.

The damn thing still has the factory chalk marks on the engine and firewall

And the wheels..........are aluminium, not hub caps.

Those old boats don't go for very much. And a five digit odometer, how convenient for the mileage claim. Unless it's the original owner or he has service records to back it up the guy is likely full of it.

At $9k the novelty of the car will wear off quickly. IMO, it's ~$5k cool.

I like the Continental behind it with the suicide doors...I'd give $9K for that all day!

Clean car. But I can't see 9K. It's not a real desirable car.

Meh... has about as much appeal as a 1994 Lincoln...

They just aren't that cool.

Jack up the door with a wood block and a floor jack. Bend it a little higher than it will ride. Once the pins are worn through the bushings, they're into the good metal. :)

I like it, but it needs these:
