It was Mexico, not America. If you have ever spent any time in Mexico, you might understand why they don't have safety kill switches and barriers at a spectator event. Just living in most places down there is risky enough and they have more dangerous things to worry about than a Monster Truck show (drug cartels, crazy locals with nothing to lose, buildings that could collapse at any moment, questionable food, etc). You should see the "barriers" the government puts up on the sides of the highways (at least in Baja Mex). 18" concrete pillars spaced about 10 foot apart. If you hit them, you are screwed. Go look at any video of there biggest race and tourist attraction (Baja 1000), the spectators try to reach out and touch the vehicles at they are screaming by at 100 MPH. Sad situation all the way around.

Ever seen a Mexican rodeo? I can't picture this being much different. Sucks for the kids, but tequila and horsepower just don't mix

This is obviously tragic. I don't see why we care about people dying today, and not any other day. Just because we hear about it on the news? Hundreds of people are killed every day in Mexico, be it in unsafe industrial work situations, traffic incidents due to obvious reasons, drug cartels, unsanitary living conditions, lack of healthcare, etc. - the list goes on. A few people getting smashed by a monster truck is nothing in the big picture of what happens down in that hell every day. Mexico is a mostly a terrible place. It's no wonder people risk their lives every day trying to get to the US.

agreed.

How did I know, before I even clicked on the topic, that I would see a bunch of douches making fun of the fact that a bunch of people died, thinking it's ok because they are in Mexico.

Because it was ok to make fun of people in other countries that had their craniums split open by improperly used recovery straps?

That is not true. I don't like anything bad happening to children no matter what race they are.

How to identify the true hilljacks on a web forum: Make a post about a horrible accident in another country and watch them laugh at the dead women and children.

And no I'm not laughing at the dead/wounded, just the Mexican system.
