Default Project JPRBORN (tj build) Mild build

To start...
This TJ was bought over a year and a half ago. I bought it with a 3.5 inch lift and 1 inch body. MTR Kevlars in the 35 flavor with no regear, winch, sway bar, or lockers. Kinda a cheap build if ya ask me. Then I got into the axles and winch and all that good stuff. I wasnt very good at fab work yet. then came a job at an engineering facility where they trained me to weld... this was the beginning of the end for me. I conjured up a 4 link setup that got frustrating and I half assed every part of it. Then after a few wheeling trips and not much of any problems I parked her for a bit. Then came along a crazy ***** and my jeep was vandalized. Insurance company would not cover for there own reasons. So, Ive decided, this is the best time ( if there ever was one) to start my build for a mild setup with a total suspension rebuild, frame repair and miscellaneous upgrades.

Plans:
-35 inch pitbull rockers
-new custom 4 link rear
-custom y-link front control arms
-high clearance skid
-custom front bumper
-shallow custom rear bumper
-bucket seats
-mild cage tie ins to frame as well
-rust repair
-body armor
-possibly coilovers front

this is the early progression prior to vandalization and after.

Slowly but surely. Pulled the rear axle a week ago, cut off brackets, cleaned up truss and ground smooth for some brackets from artec. Frame cleaned up, cut out heavy rust patches and getting some steel from alro to repair and sleeve frame. Tedious work right now.

I also had to splice the wires for the injectors and thermostat, because they were snipped. Heard her run and I fell in love all over again with her. But fuel tank is pulled now for possibly a fuel cell... for time being, tank will reside in the tub until them.

Been some time since I have been to this page. I have done a lot to the jeep and it has been on the road for a few months now. (maybe I have been enjoying it just too much to remember this thread I started).

Thus far, I have done a 3 link front, 4 link rear, rear back half frame from artec, 35 inch courser MXT's (which out performed any of my expectations). I have redone a lot of the wiring, got some fancy tailights, redid all the brakes, and crossover steering. Unfortunately, I put a ton of time and effort into the axles on my jeep and then scored a good deal on a Dana 44 HP front and a 9" rear to match with 5.13 gears. I am now going to upgrade to 37 inch tires but will stick with the MXT's as they seem great for street and off road.
