Frank - I got when he was 8 and is now 10. He is a Shar Pei / Terrier mix. 50lbs Very strong and full of life, doesn't shed, he is the dummy of the group but very gentle and will not leave mine or my GF's side. This dog can leap over a 4' chain link fence from a stand still.
Sounds like Duke when I rescued him in Detroit from a burned out garage that had a van in it that he made his home... Love this dog to death... My brother has him now...

He's a professional fence jumper when he wants to be...

And can be hard headed when an adult is not in view.
They also shed and smell. Never had one that was a drooler though.
Put it in the short list?

I fully understand there are pit mixes that are much smaller.

But hey, kickstand wants to buy a compact car but let's all try to sell him a fucking Excursion.

Yes he's true American S.S.T weights 57.84 lbs was just at the vet. Not trying to force anything just throwing it out there

Kickstand - you are correct sir, he isn't a cold guy at all. Lol.

Alright, you said you wanted an active dog, so I'm going to plead my case one last time. This'll be the last time I pimp my dog out.

He's 3/4 Blue Merle Australian Sheppard and 1/4 Australian Cattle Dog. He's 45lbs full grown. The most loyal dog I have ever had. Eats 2 cups a day.
I'm not a runner but when my little brother was staying with me on leave from the Army he would go running every morning and take Rocky with him. The dog just want's to go go go as you'll see in the link below. He's always by my side and so damn smart.
I know you have an issue with shedding, which he does but it is not as bad as a Golden or a pure bred Aussie because of the Cattle Dog in him.
The breeder we got him from is in Newyago and we actually ran into another pup from the same breeder at the Lake Orion dog park. I think the dogs share a parent.

This is Rocky

This is what we do every weekend

Shiba Inu.

But they shed. A lot. One of the few dogs that have fur that I'm not allergic to. Oh, and they're pretty terrible off leash as they have an insane prey drive.
