Which is funny because the 300 is using displays we first designed for GM back in 2006 for the 09 LaCrosse....

The MY15 300 will be nice, working on the 200 and 300 now...

It's not shocking. The LaCrosse got an update well before the GMT900 platform did.

I'm comparing a vehicle that hasn't received any interior/tech updates since 2007 to one that did in 2011. It's to be expected, and it isn't a fair comparison.

Except, the interior on the 07-13 Silverado/Sierra/Tahoe/Yukon Platform is one of the most user friendly simple and functional layouts available.

Sure, I'm partial because I like it. But I don't like fancy pants over complicated let's try to make the interior something its not kinda cars (cough cough cough ford radios).

I do wish that I had the buckets instead of the bench up front, I certainly liked that set up in my 2007 a lot better.

Yes it is, although the Nav radio can be a giant pain in the ass. I can't give enough praise for the Uconnect system w/ nav in my 300.

Why is that funny? He is talking about a Chrysler car compared to GM trucks and you are talking about Buicks?

Really? I haven't messed with a Uconnect, and my truck doesn't have Nav, but the navigation in GM vehicles I have used seemed pretty straight forward and easy to operate.

I still can't figure out how to simply "tune" the radio in our focus without having to search through 4 layers of menus to get to that option. Unless its a preset finding the station you want without scanning is a pain in the ass. We haven't used our "Sync" in the focus in over 6 months because of how stupid it is. I stopped using mine in my focus long before I sold it as well.

Uconnect is awesome. The VR is usually pretty good as long as you enunciate. Results are hit or miss, just based on what business locations are listed in the database. For example you'll get hits on Home Depot, but a stand alone business you probably won't.

The Nav in my wife's Tahoe is clumsy, slow, difficult to navigate in it or find options. For example the touch screen will get you into certain menus, but then the only way to exit out is to use the physical buttons which you have to hit all the buttons to figure out which one works. You can't input anything while the vehicle is in motion (can't in my 300 either, but you can use VR at any time) and the keyboard inputs are in alphabetical order instead of QWERTY format which makes no sense.

Chrysler's nav is all Garmin. It's intuitive and very well done.

I digress though, as I'm comparing a very outdated nav system to a current gen one. I'm sure what GM has in Buick's Intellilink, Chevrolet MyLink and CUE systems are top notch.

Must be hit or miss on the UConnect VR. The one in my Ram is terrible. I no longer use it.

I have to make sure the blower fan is on a lower setting when I use it. Heavy rain, excessive road noise confuses it. My 300 is as quiet as a tomb, so it seems to work well. I could see how on a truck with more road noise it would hamper it.

To be honest for the most part VR technology sucks.

The uConnect in our durango is terrible, compared to the Sync in my F150

I agree with you GM, that the interiors of the GMT900s are ancient looking, especially the gauges. The K2xx is a big improvement. Although there's always a split between people who want new/innovation, and those who want the old look.

Uconnect without the 8.4" touch screen I'm assuming? Yea, it does suck.

yeah, its the uconnect with the smaller NAV radio. doesn't liek to remember bluetooth connections, and the VR sucks. But its 2012, vs the 2009 Sync, and still loses.

I do a lot of recruiting for Nissan's infotainment group and the managers have told me that voice recognition software is the hardest thing for any of the infotainment groups to figure out acrossed the industry. Hell even the cell manufacturers and voice recognition for searches, texting, siri, etc. is terrible.

That said, Give me a nice and simple layout that is easy to use and I am happy, I don't need a fucking lap top in my dashboard.

I easily shared your opinion there until I had all these fancy gadgets. But I'm on the road all over the place with OEMs, other customers, etc. that these features really do make life a bit easier.

The Sync my boss has in his '13 Explorer w/ the Sony Touch crap constantly has issues. He's at the dealer every few months to get it rebooted.

I've had zero issues with the Uconnect 8.4" set-up in my 300, other than the VR annoyances here and there.

The Escalade will be revealed on October 7th. Hopefully it's the best looking of the bunch.

It has to be. That is the flagship vehicle and the most profitable in the lineup.
