no, you stop providing services unless they pay. Just like every other person has to do for every service ever.

So do we allow hospitals to just dump the dying on the sidewalk out front once they run out of money?

You are a nice guy. Are you willing to help pay for my health care and housing needs? When can I pick up my check?

No, you hand them a bill when they leave. If they can't pay, set up a low to no interest payment plan.

I don't have a problem paying a little extra in my taxes or for my health care to know that people won't be kicked to the curb when their money runs out.

Are you OK with seeing dying people on the sidewalk in front of a hospital?

If they abuse the system they should have thought ahead. The healthcare system always covers life or death. We both know that. I am not OK with it being expanded. I am not OK with paying for health care for people who do not have jobs and spend their money on cigs and booze and drugs instead of their own well being. Let them learn. Break the cycle. Set strict limits and stick to those limits. Be an asshole, I don't care. That the only way to change people from being dependant. If you keep giving them more and more, there is no motivation for them to change.

So I am serious, I am going to have some medical bills coming up in December. When can I get my check?

These are the same people that have HD tv service, cell phones, and smoke cigarettes. THEY have placed all these items above their health. You can get plans that cover disasters relatively cheap. Their lack of planning is not my problem.

I imagine that's more or less what happens now. I also imagine that for those who end up with a bill in the hundred of thousands of dollars not much ever gets paid.

I know my father ended up with one for 7k when he blew out his Achilles tendon. I don't believe it was interest free and he did pay it back

He was also telling me of a news report he watched the other night where a doctor had a natural birth and stayed one night in the hospital. The bill was over 6k. She scrutinized it and not only had her insurance been billed double for the one night stay (at $2k a night), they were also billed for Oxycontin (which you would not give to a pregnant woman, or a woman who plans to nurse her child). These are the things the government needs to have an eye on and actually punish those who are billing for services not provided. Not mandating every body buy into a private business.

There are things that our health insurance/health care system that could be improved. BarrySorentocare didn't address any of it properly.

it looks like more bs to come, too. this vote was just to keep debate open. there will be more votes and more grandstanding by many idiots from all sides, doing nothing more than wasting time. government shutdown means a lot of bad things, but i first think about the va. the va can barely function when times are good.

Pelosi is way out there. She says the death od the 40 hour work week gives the American people the time to go after your passions and dreams.

What makes their lives more valuable than mine? Can I get my check Friday?

Their lives aren't more valuable than you're, but they might be more valuable than the cup of coffee we might have otherwise used that money on.

And no, I blow the money on strippers and beer since you taught me to not care about others. I hope the hospital doesn't kick you to the curb.
