Default need lower rear shock mounts fabricated

does this seem like a better design than what came stock on the YJ. both broke off, and one of them had been welded once before and broke again. this to me seem like a better design because all the force is centered above the axle instead of on the welded area behind it. this is just a first draft drawing. I would probably make it go further around the axle. and if anyone needs any CAD work done I am available. LOL.

that would be stronger, but might require a shorter shock which would limit your suspension travel, thats why they stick them lower so you have more travel

I am going to replace the shocks anyway. just need to figure out what size I need. I have a shackle lift on there so the travel is longer than stock so I don't see a problem getting the correct size shock in there.

Probably not bump stopped correctly. The shock should not be the downstop.

If you weld it correctly the weld will never break when it's on the back of the axle. Plus you get a longer shock which will give you more travel.
