Blessing in disguise though? I agree. Assessing all options. Today at work I will map options out using Excel.
well you could be a cable tv installer dude, or one of those fancy wireless company tower climber guys, way cooler than that other job you wanted that doesn't really exist anymore

Keep your head up. Penor patting is a very valuable skilled trade. I'm sure you will find something.

A lot of times the best things come after bad situations like this. Good luck.

Sucks man sorry to hear. Use your military benefits if recent enough and get paid to go back to school...

I worked for the TSA back in 2002 - 2003. They laid me and about a dozen other people off for no reason. out of almost 1300 workers my seniority was around 700. so why did they lay me off? my guess is because my supervisor didn't like me because I questioned gaps in security. a month later they called me and asked me to come back because the process they used to determine who got laid off was unfair. they said they were going to pay me for the whole time I was gone. I had found another job in the meantime, so I went back for about 2 weeks. got my "vacation pay" and then resigned. never regretted the decision either. I never liked the way they ran it. in my opinion the TSA was just a way to make passengers "feel" safer. seemed very unorganized. something was always changing.

You're welcome retrospectively for my tax dollars that paid for your vacation. You are now at the top of my list along with teachers who also get paid to take extended vacations on my dime.

really?

You would have gone back and gotten your vacation pay just the same as anyone else would have.

couldn't pass the test to be a teacher I see...which is fine by me because I think teachers are under paid for what they do and I feel the dont need the likes of you in their ranks...thank god you have to go to college and you couldn't make the cut

On second thought I recommend you become a teacher in Michigan. You can make 108% of the state median income in the range of $74,362 - $85,725 for 10 months of work, paid for by the rest of the state tax-payers that has seen a 20-30% decrease in income over the past 5 years. It's a sweet deal, almost like they work for the government.

I'm glad your can read, it pretty clearly says the average for non charter school teachers is about $63000, which in my opinion seems pretty fair
