Rust and sludge included at no extra cost!
I tried but was unable to get a good photo of the inside of either can. Both cans have rust and varnish inside, and both smell like old gas cans.
The C/Premium can is USMC issue. I don't know if 20-5-78 is may 20, 1978 date code, part number, or something else. I inspected the bottom seam for blisters, pin hole, and other serious signs of decay but did not find any. The vertical seem is also without blisters, pin holes or decay. The interior will need a good cleaning and the scale rust to be removed if using it for fuel storage. Otherwise, it would be fine for storing spent oil for recycling at Vato Zone.
The Blitz can has less interior scale and more varnish than the USMC can. The blitz can has paint blistering around the bottom seam. This can would need to be de-scaled and de-varnished if used for fuel storage. Otherwise, it would be fine for storage and transport of spent motor oil.
