My wife and I were on the trails just North of M72 ( Kalkaska trails). The trails were smoother than most public roads. Very well groomed. No challenge for any 4x4. Will be nice for the family color tour.

My wife and I just transplanted to TC two weeks ago. I'm afraid by the time we close on our house(s), winter will be here and I'll have to wait till spring to explore the area.

That sounds like AZ. We were there in February. Everyone I met was from Michigan originally!

We were up there over the weekend for Red Wings Training Camp. I saw a couple llifted Cheokees rubberneck my Tacoma when I was going down 31. I sa a neat Defender 110 just out of town on our way to the dunes this AM too.

Weird part: We were coming back from teh UP last month through that area. I spotted a Mercedes Gelandewagen around Harbor Sprins and another by Charlevoix. I told the wife you probably won't ever see 2 of those in the same day. I had to eat those words. Spotted 2 yesterday in downtown Traverse City.

Theres a lot of two tracks near the Manistee River with a couple nice overlooks. Nothing real challenging though. Start at 4 & 17 roads Southeast of Buckley and head south. That will take down near the river. You got Twisting Trails out on 115 near Thompsonville if you want real four wheeling. Cadillac Jeepers usually does a color ride every year too. Check their website or FB.

More East than that. Dingmans Bar is holding their annual color tour ride Oct 5th. Good event I hear. Dingmans is on M72 between Grayling and Kalkaska. My wife and I will be attending for the first time. Love Arizona, use to work the winters at the GM Desert Proving Grounds.
