I hit a deer with my 13 gmc and it cost $6500 to fix. Didn't even need a hood or either fenders. Just from the bumper down. I did have the drivers air bag go off too which accounts for about $2000 of that damage.

I spent 6 years in school learning and doing collision work. Just wait and take it in to a shop. To many of the newer cars and trucks will have way more damage done to them they an older one.

New gm trucks are made of paper thin metal and expensive to fix. 2006 was the last year of a tough work truck IMO

Should cost about $500 for your deductible, let the insurance get the rest.

I will have less than $500 in parts to repair similar damage to my 94 Yota using glass fenders from Andy & a glass hood from a Broncorama swap meet. Another $300 for a Maaco paint job. Getting the glass parts to fit is a bitch. I am going to court in an hour because the person who turned in front of me is fighting ticket. Her insurance company is supposed to send me a check for $1000.

This is probably 99% useless info for an 08 Silverado.
