I call bullshit on the 6 hours as you used my power washer.
My run will be mud free. I promise.

The whole trip was pretty much mud-free until that last place we tried to go.

Sure would be nice to push that one through. It got late and of course WET. We got that far from the east, now lets see what we can find from the west. If we do, that potentially makes that a loop trail.
It WAS an old logging road, just not used in decades.

33" skinny all terrains, winch, locked front only. And this just arrived in a little brown truck. Need to do a little fab work after dinner tonight.

Knock yourself out. I'm planning to keep it simple this year.

Where from and how much?

I'd feel better with a little fuel reserve after cutting it a bit closer than I'd like last year.

Next year. Just saying that it's a key to a loop trail rather than all the way in and then turn around. I'm actually more hoping I can get to Lions Back.

http://www.jerrycan.com/

$63.50 shipped, took a week from order to delivery. I was all set to order the Daystar plastic cans but in the aftermath of the Blitz bankruptcy they have a note on their website stating their red gas cans may never make it to market for liability reasons.

The spouts are all on backorder though

Do they actually have them in store or just on the site?

I had to have a look for myself, they don't have the cam lock lids, just a cap.

http://www.harborfreight.com/5-gallo...can-99551.html

The reviews seem to be pretty poor. For a $20 difference, might as well get the good ones.

FYI, you can get the Scepter NATO plastic jerry cans, called a military Fuel Can (MFC), on Ebay for $50-100 depending on condition.

This guy has a bunch of good condition Sceptor cans for $54/ea shipped. Tan or OD

I purchased 2 steel cans from here, little crusty on outside, but clean inside, for 20 bucks, Blitz. Cracked rubber seals, but I have rubber to replace. No filler though, but I plan on siphoning with a hose. But! If time doesn't allow the manufacturing of rubber and painting of can, a plastic 5 gallon can is being strapped in.

lgottler'
what style filler do they require...I will have one that fits the style in Phitties picture above, or I probably have one laying around that fits the larger round threaded opening. Let me know and I can throw something in the Jeep for you.

Mine are the older round threaded opening ones. If you have an extra that would be awesome!

To the person that put red caps on the beige spray paint cans....£¥#! You!

Or another option is this:

http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shop...duct/10210534/

As I've seen Jeff use this a NUMBER of times up @ GG, their small and compact, they work GREAT, you don't have to stand and try to hold the 40+ lb can while trying line up the filler spout, and you don't have to worry about trying to get a nozzle to fit the Unleaded small openings in filler necks (that is if you still have that and you haven't blown it open yet)

I picked up one of the China Freight jerry cans tonight. It was $37, then I used a 25% off coupon.

It doesn't seem to be too horribly built.

I just gotta figure out a good way to mount it.

Sounds good...I'll bring one for you...it is the style for the Blitz cans w/the threaded opening...it uses a cam to expand a rubber grommet into the opening (approx. 2.25" dia) and has a 1.25" dia outlet. It's a little tired and may leak slightly at the rubber grommet, but would get you thru the wkd. I might also have one that threads in using the flat rubber gasket...I'll look if time permits.
