1 watt of power at thirty feet... seems like a waste. I wonder what the power being pulled from the wall is.

The Cota wireless charging system includes a charge-transmitting unit and a charge receiver. The charging unit in the video was only shown briefly, but it appeared to be a pillar-shaped piece of equipment that's about 6 feet tall.
Sounds like a Tesla Coil to me. But according to the article, it operates in the 2ghz or higher band (not too specific). This would transmit power without the fireworks of a usual 60hz Tesla coil, but I'm betting it's not a particularly efficient way to transfer energy.

Let's say you have an intersection, east-west and north-south. Each road is a two way, non divided street.

Going north is a funeral procession that has already crossed the intersection.

Going south, about 1/8 mile from the intersection is a school bus that is stopped, red flashers on

Going east is an ambulance, lights and siren on.

Who has the right of way?

My logic would say the ambulance, but that is dependant on the quality of people on the procession and the type of bus driver...

Certainly time is of the essence in an ambalamps, therefore should supersede the other two?

What about a cop going the west with his flashers on?

I think the world would implode in that scenario

Wrong. School buses always has the right of way. Emergency vehicles are required to stop for buses. What usually happens, is once the bus driver realizes there is an emergency vehicle approaching, they hold (secure for safety) the kids, deactivate their lights, and the emergency vehicle passes.

So, this senerio, order of right of way...

1. School Bus (with activated lights)
2. Emergency vehicle.
3. Funeral procession.

After reviewing the senerio again, I correct my answer..

Ambulance.

Reasoning, the Bus and Funeral procession are on a N-S road. The ambulance is on and E-W road.

So it doesn't have the right of way, but they should try to give it the right of way if at all possible. Which is mostly my answer. I award myself 2/3 of a point... on whose line, where they don't matter.

I really hate charities that collect money or sell stuff at traffic lights. It puts distracted amateurs in the most congested part of the roadway at the busiest times and causes drivers to behave erratically.

Almost tagged the Lexus in front of me Saturday who decided - after sitting thru the full red - to stop suddenly on the green and do a transaction...

The ironic part is they are usually collecting for the mentally challenged.....

"Hey, let's collect money for the mentally challenged! What would be the best way to do that?"

"Uh, stand in traffic?"

"Brilliant!"
