Thanks. Bending is easy, it's all the notching, grinding, and fitting that sucks!!

Haha. I see what Thomas did there....

Scott's got a good point!

Good to see some progress on it, keep it up! Then maybe you can wheel at Scott's next year?

I don't know much about suspensions...but I think that those bars you have welded in there are going to make it ride like shit

Got the new frame in place:

Obviously it won't stay that long when it's finished, but I left extra for now.

Now I'm trying to decide how to do the steering. I'm only running about 4.5" of lift so am not doing high steer. It's unnecessary and would compromise uptravel big time. Original plan was to move the tie rod on top of the knuckles and mount the draglink to the outer end of the tie rod for an inverted T setup. Undecided if I wanted to go heims or TREs, but leaning towards heims.
I'm now considering leaving the tie rod on the bottom of the knuckles and run full crossover with the end of the draglink on the top of the passenger knuckle hole. Like this:

This would require heims and when I plate the knuckles I'd put the mounts in double sheer. The draglink angle will be about the same as if I moved the tie rod up, it'll just be longer. I'll lose about 3" of clearance under the tie rod but it'll make packaging everything much nicer, I can keep the steering box back a couple inches further, and I just kinda like it better. If I keep the tie rod where it is and run full crossover I can keep the box back further with the pitman arm directly over the tie rod. If I move the tie rod to the top of the knuckles I need to push the box further forward to clear the tie rod at full bump.
Think I'll hate having the tie rod that low? It'd be just above the bottom of the axle tube just like you see here. I'm open to opinions, just give me some good reasoning for your thoughts!
I plan on running hydro assist. I considered full hydro, but chose not to because of cost and because I plan on driving on the street quite a bit.

Panhard clearance to the lower radiator hose is gonna be tight but I'll find a way to make it work:

Pretty unlikely. I've still got a ton to do, I'll be working crazy hours through most of November and December, still need to order a bunch of parts, and I owe a buddy some fabrication time for work he's done for me. Still shooting for spring though.

I agree with your thoughts. Keep lower link as is and place the steering from the box on top as your nice level shows . This would be both easier and keep it safe for street use. what would be the max angle of the steering at full droop?
