No amount of military intervention will turn Syrians, Libyans, Egyptians, Iraqis, Afghans, Nicaraguans, Lebanese, Vietnamese, or North Koreans into good little democracy-loving pseudo-Americans.

Fighting Assad means fighting WITH Al Quaeda.

Just say NO. Obie's ego isn't worth one Tomahawk missile and is definitely not worth one U.S. service person's life.

This would make a FANTASTIC letter to congressmen.

If the US military is for rent now we should all fund raise to get a big strike put on Washington...

We have two scorpions fighting in a jar of sand.
The French are willing to open that jar so we (USA) can stick OUR hand in to break them up.

I 100% agree.

Our military is not a world police force or a mercenary force to be hired out to the highest bidder.

The "President" claims the White House is closed to tours (even though it's OUR house) because of sequester and they can't afford it but he's willing to dump $30,000,000 A WEEK on keeping our naval assets in The Med in preparation for a strike against a country that no one cares about and no one wants to get involved in while risking war with Russia and China. That doesn't even include the fact that he wants to arm, train and support our enemies using the excuse that Assad used chemical weapons on civilians when the "rebels" have already claimed responsibility for the gas attacks.

Oh wait, here's a strategy no one thought to try

http://www.mediaite.com/online/u-n-a...mical-weapons/

Quote:
We worked with the UN to create a group of inspectors and then worked for more than six months to get them access to the country, on the logic that perhaps the presence of an investigative team in the country might deter future attacks. Or if not, at a minimum, we thought perhaps a shared evidentiary base could convince Russia or Iran – itself a victim of Saddam Hussein’s monstrous chemical weapons attacks in 1987-1988 – to cast loose a regime that was gassing its people.
this is nuts. May as well try and convert them to mormons...

This is obviously a UN-inspired tactic that produces UN-productive measures to demonstrate UN-related resolutions in a UN-timely manner.

Does anyone else think the timing of this event could just be an expensive ($ and lives) distraction from the issues that are going to become obvious in the next few weeks with obamacare?

Groups race to hire, train 'Obamacare' guides

http://news.yahoo.com/groups-race-hi...084532934.html

"With the program known as "Obamacare" only weeks away from its key launch date, hectic preparations are in motion in communities across the country to deal with one of its major practical challenges: hiring and training a small army of instant experts who can explain the intricacies of health insurance to people who've never had it...Deploying the guides for the uninsured is one of the first hurdles for the new health system as it transitions from an abstract political debate in Washington to a real-life process in communities. It is one of the steps government officials are concerned about as critics warn that the Affordable Care Act could become a "train wreck."
