Default Some Go-Pro and a few photos from DH mountain biking with the kids/fiance

We took a trip down to Snowshoe, WV again to do some mountain biking. The kids turned 8 this month, Xander actually turned 8 over the weekend, so we took them riding for their Bday party.

FYI, riding with a fractured sternum sucks bunghole.

http://youtu.be/Pb4JP8maKSI <-Xander making it down a "fairly" tough trail.

Sending one of the table top jumps, yes, he cleared it.

Mom on the same jump

Mom doing one of the log drops (I'll have go pro of me going off this later, this picture makes it look smaller)

It's a fucking blast for sure. Also has turned into a great way to stay in shape and spend time with the family.

Any of you knuckleheads ever want to try it out Boyne Highlands rents bikes and runs their chairlift in the summer, be glad to ride around with you guys.

Do they also rent the helmets and the rest of the gear?

I am not sure about gear. I will say this, you can "get away without" any major armor and padding at boyne, its mostly sandy and rooty. Very little rocks like you see in that video.

When I ride at Boyne I usually only wear my full face helmet and knee pads.

If you want to ride up there and would like to, you can borrow an older full face I have. Just say the word.

What kind of skill level would be needed at Boyne? I have not ridden a bike hard and jumped stuff in 25 years.

All of the features have a by-pass. It is kinda sandy so you would want to be comfortable in loose gravel/sand. But if you are reasonably athletic and know how to ride a bike you should be able to enjoy yourself there.

My kids started riding there at the age of 5, so, I am of the mindset that if they can do it any adult should be able to as well.

yes. Though you won't be able to go as fast as someone on a full suspension bike. But there is no reason you could not check out what they have to offer ona regular hard tail.
