Default Source of some 8.88 5 ton chucks

Without rambling on the details.
Does anyone know of a source of 8.88 chucks? I have been searching for over a week with no success. I thought I would ask on here before calling around. Within 300 miles would be nice.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ok, I want to run 53" tires because it will solve Many issues I am having with 40's and will save me almost 6k in not narrowing anything. I just need to run 8.88 gears to stay close to the same gearing. The engine will bog and rig be a total dog running 53" otherwise. Heck, I designed this thing to run with the 6.44 or 8.88 on 40's. It just revs like 3k at 75 and kills MPG in doing so. With 53" it coast down the road at 1800 at 75 sipping fuel.

If anyone knows where I can find a set of Rockwell 5ton 3rds sporting the illusive 8.88 gearing please let me know.

Sipping fuel, well the 472 gets like 17 mpg on the highway running 1700 rpm. Which is not to shabby in a 5,000 lb car.

Actually I think I have really lost it trying to find a 8.88. Talked with a few people and the 8.88 is damn near impossible to get. They were only tested for a few years in the rocket launchers before being cut out.

If someone knows where a 8.88 set is let me know. But, after finding out how rare these are I doubt I will ever find a set.

I am looking at a more popular gear ratio. If a certain local 5 ton supplier gets them back in stock I will be giving them a call around November.
