Test & Tune @ Milan Dragway 9/4/13

Anybody planning on going or interested in hitting the strip next Wednesday?

I haven't been there in a good 10+ years, but there are a few of us planning on doing a little racing if the weather is decent. According to their website, t&t starts at 4pm Wednesday evenings. Like I said, I haven't been there in a long time...but it used to be $20 to race and $10 to spectate if I remember correctly.

None of us will be running anything extremely fast, just our daily driver trucks and cars (c5 vette, hemi charger, a few ecoboost f150's and one 6.2 liter f150). I hope to dip into the 13's with my heavy pig v6 f150, but that may be asking a lot for a basically stock 4x4 on 33's.

So anybody else want to hit the drag strip? If so, what will you be driving so I can keep an eye out and get some vids?

A little far away for me and my SHO needs a clutch after my last dragstrip adventure. Sounds like a fun time though.

Bump, tomorrow is the day...anybody else going? Weather looks decent.

Looks like their prices went up a bit too, $25 to race, $15 to spectate now. I plan on getting there around 4pm.

Just got home, I forgot how much fun running at the track can be.

I ended up hitting my goal of 13's..

Best run was a 13.84 @ 96 mph. Not bad for a full size crew cab 4x4 F150 with a tuned 3.5 liter tt v6, running 33" AT's in 80+ degree weather.

Definitely going to plan another trip up there when the weather cools down some...I think it has mid 13's in it.

Nice!

Who's tuning? Any exhaust mods?

My friend just bought a 5 star tuner for his 2013, that thing is really fun now.

No exhaust or intake mods, just the livernois Motorsports 93 octane tune on it. With the stock wheels and tires and cooler track temps, I think it could easily cut a few tents off.

I haven't put it on a scale, but everything I read says between 5600 and 6000 lbs for the crew cab short bed 4x4 with the ecoboost, plus the additional weight of these wheels and tires (20" XD monsters, 305/50/20 nitto terra grapplers). It was also at full weight at the track, I didn't remove the spare tire, tailgate or anything....and it had a half tank of gas.

Here is the truck...

Here are a few vids from that day...these were early on before I got the launch down and started getting good 60' times.

Vs my buddies '12 hemi charger. He ended up running a few 14.1's that day, all stock.

vs my brothers '11 6.2 limited F150.

first pass to break into the 13's vs an old foxbody

That's moving pretty good. That was a quick car in the early 90s.
