I do not run oil in mine... I figured it would last just as long either way

Ran rotella 15w40 since new. No oil related issues in a 120000 miles. Run rotella 5w40 in my new 6.7 with no worries.

I may not have a 6.0, but when i used to work at Valvoline, i put 5w40 Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme in a lot of them. Its what i run in my diesel.

Run what ever diesel oil you want just keep if fresh and use the revx additive.

I read up on this same topic a lot on the diesel forums. seems that the popular oil is delo 5w40 syn. I put it in mine with rev x and its been great.. i switched from schaffers which was terrible on cold starts.. before that was rotella 15w40. switching from the rotella to the schaffers I noticed a difference immediately. stay away from the schaffers. the big topic of discussion on the diesel forums what phosphorus in the oil.. some connection between phosphorus content and resistance to inje for spool valve sticktion.

I used Rotella 15w40 with no problems when I had my 6.0 PSD.

I think I may use AR9100 in my oil changes over rev-x.

I was researching the rev-x, and came across this thread, very long read over a couple years time with posts.

Rev-X exposed - TheDieselGarage.com

Another informative link from that thread.

Thanks John. Ar9100 is a new thing for me. Only on really cold mornings last winter I had the cold start issue... I will be putting it in.
