Default ***SOLD*** 1996? 3.4 Yamaha Tauras SHO Motor

Supposedly formerly a SVT Skunk Works motor. I know very little about this motor. Aluminum block and heads. DOHC. Block casting #F6DE-6F092-DC. Spent the last ten years in storage, rolls over by hand. No computer. $400 Obo

The V8s are not worth much because they were dogs compared to the earlier V6's. Even the 3.0 and 3.2 motors can be had routinly in the $400-$600 range. I think your price is on the high side so it may be tough to sell. I'm not trying to flame you, just offering guidance. Ebay may be your best resource to get the coin you're looking for.

One last thing, pop the cam covers and see if the cam gears have been welded. These motors are notorious for grenading their cam gears and fubaring the motor up. If the gears are welded, this will add value to a potential buyer.

Thanks for the info. I really don't know what the motor is worth. Alot easier to come down on price than go up. Was posted Obo for them reasons. So are you making me an offer?

No, not making an offer. I do own a first generation SHO so I've done some research on what's out there. I'm also a mechanic so I am familiar with the problems of the 3.4. Just trying to help you out, not being condescending.
