No a cop just cannot stop you because he wants too, however if said cop is up on his mcl's yes he could stop you for anything, very few cars and drivers on the road, I'd say less than 1% are 100% legal. But that is why I said a valid stop, meaning having a reason, and depending on the nature of said stop, the area, ect there my be a few questions that you would otherwise believe to be none of said cops business that may need to be answered. And as always you don't have to answer shit, but you might end up paying the price for it too. Walking around, you might have to present ID as well, although you are not required by law, depending on the situation it may cost you in the end. I understand people think they KNOW their rights, but the truth is, most do not even come close to understanding them.

I have been pulled into 2 DUI checkpoints in the last 5 years in a cmv. I have also recovered 2 semi,s within that time that were impounded due to dui.

I am alright giving up certain rights in certain situations for the betterment of the community.
