Default My YJ wants to be a TJ??????

1988 Wrangler from North Carolina with a 400sbc, line bored, balanced, took to a 406 and all the goodies (sounds goooood), 350 turbo. 35s claws on m/t sidebiter rims. 4" lift with 2" body. Cleanest yj I have seen in a while, probably why its in my barn now. Have a 8,8 sitting for when the unquestionable happens with the 35.
So, Have several ideas on this one. Added bushwacker flares and rockers as this one will stay on the road.
Started today with one. A TJ grill morphed into a yj radiator support. Also, a cj tailgate because I like the drop down to come soon.

It just personal preference. I like the round.
Priming and blocking, thinking once more and I am ready for paint.
Here is what I came up with for blinkers. Thinking blacking them out, but for free, just a day of cutting and fitting, they will work.

Looks good. I'm not a fan of the square either. But I took the easy way out and put a CJ Grill in my YJ.

Alot of work. The tj just doesn't bolt up. I basically just cut the outer perimeter of the jy and used this as a template for the tj cut. The tj bottom is about 4" shorter, so keep the yj long when cutting out. Also added 1/2 inch to top edge to bring it out, so the hood does not have the yj over hang now its flush with the grill face.

Getting close. Motor all in and wired. Autometer gauges in stock locations, ton of work. Still have to figure out something for upper radiator hose. Also need to decide what I want to do about fuel pump, intank or external. Shoiuld be running soon-ya baby!

Up and running. Ended up 3" single Warlock exhaust. Sounds deep but not loud. Thinking no more old school SBC for me.:)
