Cool car but I'm not excited about the FF being pushed out even longer

  • What are we talking? 2-3K? 6-8K?
I'm going to keep this car as original as possible, but I don't mind doing bolt on swaps and storing original parts.

That being said, and the fact that I am an , I don't trust my taste in wheels and tires.
What do you think this needs as far as wheels?

I'm thinking 18 to 20 inch non spoked (solid) rims with a low profile performance tire. The stock rims and tires are black steel rim, with brushed solid aluminum hubcaps, and 235 75 15 Arizona white walls.
I just want street performance and cruseability that looks good. I wont be drag racing or doing burnouts. (I don't think)

If you want any hope of power from this ghetto cruiser, I would suggest you bag the current 460 and replace it with a fuel injected one of a later year. At a minimum, you need to get rid of the heads on the current motor and put some on that are not smoggers. I am a huge fan of the 460 so I think with some effort (and maybe a turbo) you can make that car have some snort.

Me neither, but I need a car to drive in the next couple weeks. As soon as the fuel line is changed on the Lincoln, I promise the Flareside is going back on the hoist.

fyi - The fuel pump and filter were ordered this morning, and I will pick up the line on the way home from Napa

I would, but theres that hole rumor about his Bronco being beat by a YJ with a 396, that hangs over his head. He's kind of tainted now.

Bag it on 20's. Put some flowy mufflers on it and call it a day. Big power out of that car is pointless imo. It's a bad ass cruiser if some attitude is added though.

I will be doing as little as possible, I need to put too much money into that FLareside.
After looking at wheel and tire prices, I will probably just buy a set of Hancooks or yokohama's and put them on the existing wheels after I paint them.

I need some help for about 15 minutes tonight..............

I need to move the Lincoln into the barn to put it up on the hoist, but it is too big for just my kids and I to handle.

Is anybody free for just a few minutes after work.

I am located about mile west of US 131 at the Rockford exit.

Thank You G-man for the help.

With his help I was able to get the Lincoln to the hoist. I took a few pictures to document.
