Default Trails near Baldwin

I have a trail map of the area around Baldwin and wonder if anyone knows if there are any worth checking out just west of Big Star Lake. There seems to be alot near there just wondered if anyone had any expertise in that area.

Head West young man,

We have the same map and drove every trail on it.

The two trails that go west, toward Walhala get interesting, very pretty scenery. Not much for the hard core just trails.

They become poorly maintained and close in so they scratch the shit out of stuff.

The one that is directly North of M-10 goes all the way to the North side of Walhala,

And there is one just South of the Bridge in Walhala that comes all the way back, jig jog through a couple of roads.

Take a couple colored markers with you and have fun, drive them all.

This is the area my cabin is in. Most of the trails or dirt bike or snowmobile but there are a ton of forestry roads that cross or that the snowmobile trails run on. I usually run them over to Ruby creek area. I am up right now. Like others have said there really isn't anything to challenging just forest roads but the scenery is pretty decent. What map do you have?

I will take a look at it on the DNR Site. I'm in the area. Let me know if you come up for a trail ride.

The only one I could find on the DNR website west of Big Star Lake is the Big O trail and it does not show ORV truck routes. Can you email it to me? rwbrowne12@gmail.com

While there are some forest service roads you can travel on there is no route for full sized use west of M-37. There is the Tin Cup and the Little Manistee that can be traveled by full sized vehicles east of M-37.

Thats what I see as well. We jeeped the Tin Cup over Spring Break. Will do some forestry roads today and find some Geocaches.

Around Hill lake just west of Big Star, Oxbow road. Natty forest road and a "boat launch". Pretty torn up in spots. Surprised still open.

I wouldn't bother with the Tin Cup. They just graded it. More fun on the north/south State Road south out of Luther. Combo of 2 track/fire road, deep sand and hills/water with new util poles
