Default Vertec 454

I am replacing the intake manifold gasket on a friendís 1997 Suburban with the Vortec 454. There is a large AN hose on the left side of the upper Plenum, can anyone tell me what this is for and what size wrench I need to get to remove it? It is not in a user friendly location and this will most likely be a one use only tool so I really do not want to buy a whole big wrench set.

Never mind, I got it off using a set of large needle nose vise grips and a small pipe wrench,
