Default Amish in Gladwin

Does anybody know if they do business on Sunday? I am planning on going up north to my property to do some clean up before me and all my buddies go up next weekend for Labor day, and I am very low on wood! I know the Amish sawmill on M-18 sells their scrap bark pieces of pine for like $5-$10 a truck load, and that is what I usually do. I don't think I will be up there early enough on Saturday to go and get some, so I was going to go on Sunday. I'm not sure if they do business on Sundays though. Anybody know?!?

Thanks

You should just call/text them or send them an email.

I used to work with six Amish guys in Ohio. One day we were raking the field and the guy next to me, in full Amish garb, starts ringing. He pulls a smartphone out of his coat and starts into a conversation about feeding chickens and milking cows.

After that phone call a very long and confusing conversation ensued, in which he swore up and down that the phone didn't use electricity, and wasn't all that "fancy" of a technology :what:

No Sundays in my area. Amish here have phones for businesses and homes mostly with business. They can use generators to produce electricity, again mostly for businesses.

I've purchased wood on Saturday and picked it up on Sunday without issue. Most Amish love money so I doubt you will have a problem with this.

The sawmill on 18 sells bundles for like 3$ a piece. I didn't know they do a whole pickup load for 10. I've been getting ripped off, if they do.

At least they used too. I still see guys here and there backed up to the big over flow pile filling their truck beds. I've done it a few times. There's a sawmill / junkyard (I think) on 30 maybe 4 miles south of 61 and they sell the same wood, but either a full cord or a face cord for $30 and they load it in your truck for you. That's what the sign says by the road.
