Default What exhaust on my v8 jeep

Jasper 350extreme (basic 350 with a slightly bigger cam) 335hp 375 ft lbs of tq in a tj.

Right now it has headers and 2 1/2" dual exhaust with flowmasters with turndowns.

It is loud and irritating as hell. I would like to run 2 into 1 on the passenger side of the jeep to keep the heat off my fuel pump and lines. What do you guys suggest for size and type of muffler? I want a good tone but I don't want it to be so damn loud!

I have an AMC 360 in my YJ,

Was running duals with cheapy mufflers and turndowns.

Currently running 2.5" off the manifolds to a 3". From there it goes to a high flow cat and end's right by the bumper with a Supertrapp Disc only welded onto the rear.

Great response, fairly quiet. Put exhaust wrap on it all to help keep temps down.

magnaflow will be quieter than a flowmaster or anything similar so that may be your ticket. I have a ls engine with long tube headers and a dual in/dual out V force that turns out after the rear axle that sounds badass. Don't quote me but I believe its all 2.5" pipe, its not 3" that's all I know.

I agree.

We've got the flowmaster 2.5 to 3.0 Y-pipe and it made hook-up easier than a splice. No confirmation if it helps power or not, just the seat dyno.

We run a Dynomax race bullet which is loud, so I wouldn't recommend that part.

On my small block XJ, it's 2" to the Flowmaster Y and 2 1/2 to a 2 1/2" Delta Flowmaster and a tailpipe. Quiet.

2.5x3 it is. I will check out the magnaflows and spin techs. Is there a specific model that you recommend?

Dynmax Ultra Flo mufflers work very well too, and aren't bad price wise. Keep in mind it's not just the muffler/brand you get, it also depends on the body size/etc.
A bigger bodied muffler will quiet it down more than a small bodied muffler

Not sure on the model but I used the 14" Magnaflow 3". I'm pretty happy with it.

personally I really like my dual FM44s. headers as well. all 2.5" stuff.

only issue I need to correct is that they are dumped under the cab which makes it too loud and resonates too much. dumping it after the axle will help a ton.

this is on a 6.0 lq4

here's an example

id recommend Xlerator turbo mufflers. They are affordable and they give that old school sound as well as an aggressive tone.
