Yah. I was sooooo close to getting a sweet job at dynatorque in muskegon. They called up and told me out of everyone it came down to me and the other guy, and was so close. He just had a little shop experience.

That job was perfect. Solid works design, but also I would have gotten to go on the floor, test the products, break them with stress test machines, and then go design them better. I was bummed

Make sure you follow up with that company then. Let them know you appreciated the opportunity and will keep in touch. Let them know you would still be interested in the future if things don't work out with the other guy. Shit happens and maybe this isn't the other guys perfect dream job and he'll move on or just not work out there.

I did follow up after they said I didn't get it and said I appreciate it etc. But that is a great idea. I've got his business card at home. I'll send him an email later on today. Thanks!

Definitely do that

if you had not graduated yet at that time, mention how you have graduated and how much this job interested you, and if any possibility of an opening you would appreciate the opportunity to work there. Also If you are open to part time to get your foot in the door maybe even mention that.

I drive by there quite a bit. Actually, I'll be driving by there in less than an hour.

Congrats.
