You talk about the shit people want to see while bitching about getting a ticket for attempting a burn out in a stock wrangler.

Go fukc yourself. YOU ARE THE REASON THE DREAM CRUISE SUCKS!

We were there all day both days and lots of people got tickets in muscle cars too. People asked us to do a burn out and I laughed at them. What's the point in a Jeep? Or at least with a stock engine.

Back in the day I would've tried to get you to do it too. Burnouts are entertaining, regardless of the vehicle. We once got a state cop in Tahoe to do a quick brake torque on Widetrack in front of the Phoenix Center in Pontiac the Friday night before the cruise. I also saw an old RV on Woodward throw a driveshaft out trying to do a burnout. Meanwhile we were 3 cars back in a 87 Escort wagon with the top cut off and lots of gold and chrome spray paint, 8 people in the car, and people were pouring their beers in the road for us to make a piss poor attempt at a burnout.

Did a one wheel peel at the Harper cruise in the 70 GMC van, right next to a bicycle cop. He says "Hey Speed Racer! Knock it off!"

Now I just do burnouts in my driveway.

Pontiac was alright. Lots of burn outs on the side streets behind the phoenix center.

And did John force burnouts in both the Blazer and the Pickup and always un front of cops. They want to see cool burnouts as well. Not a stocker!!! Is what i did worth a ticket Hell Yes, but applause and pictures where always worth the penalty.

One year in the Blazer at the cruise, where were on south bound woodward in front of Bruces alignment. Cops were really starting to try and calm things down and this had been a huge spot for burnouts. I had a few buddies in the lanes next to me. A special needs Kid walked out in front of the Blazer and the officers went and grabbed him. The whole time they were dragging him to the side he was screaming "smoke em". Kim was like "Bill" there are cops everywhere. I had my buds hold traffic.

I pulled over to the 2nd lane and before I started to do my burnout an officer came to the window and said your not doing this right. Just then a couple five gallon buckets of water were thrown in the road. I smiled and pulled into the water and proceeded to do a full burnout with 1,2 shifts held 2 nd for about 20 seconds and then let her eat for an easy 150'. Smoke everywhere and with the boggers it looked like a dually did a massive burnout.

The kids face was Priceless and would have been worth any ticket I got. Instead all that happened was the cop waving his hand to get out of there and the crowd going insane. I guess I have always been in the right place at the right time.

Moral of the story, if do a burnout or attempt at a lame ass weak burnout. Be prepared of the consequences, if you don't want a ticket don't don't break the law.

I've been there for more than a couple of those burnouts! It's amazing how that thing could suck those 44's up like a pro stocker

I have no dog in the dream cruise sucks thing.

BUT, I was at panama city spring break in my turbo charged 3rd gen eclipse that was in the upper 300's HP wise. Viper blue. classy rims (not ricey at all). was behind a old chevelle. The chevelle did a nice burn out, and there were people with vid cam in other lane that video'd him and then dare'd me. SO, I pulled up e-brake rev'd and dumped the clutch. it got both tires and clouded the area. maybe not as good as the chevelle's but still impressive for FWD.

2 minutes later a cop walks up to me. He laughed, and said that he liked the chevelle better so I am getting the ticket! I laughed, and said it is a nice chevelle! He saw my military base stickers, and asked for my military ID, and said "ok, its just a warning".

Had I got a ticket I would have man'd up and taken care of it.

more of the story is do the crime, pay the fine.

:Years ago..St Ignace cruise....74 ElCamino 383 stroker..Tunnel Ram...NOS...NICE holeshot, locale Officer pulled me over..very nice..gave me paper for excessive tire noise..$ 35.00 ticket and informed me that if I displayed the ticket in the window AND DID NOT MOVE when I pulled a holeshot I would not receive another one .. That cost me a set of tires. Move ahead 15 years Marshall MI cruise ..79 Scout .. 39.5 TSLs..low range 2wd..NOS..1st..2nd..3rd and let it eat...BUT never moved..even I can learn..2 blocks later a bicycle officer pulled up beside me at a light and informed me to PULL OVER AS SOON AS I COULD....not nice..at the same time as my C.B. went off and my buddy says "Hey Bob get out of town there's 3 cops chasing you down" . That one didn't go so well..$125.00 ticket and if he saw my truck again it was his. Bottom line,no one got hurt the crowd liked it almost as much as I did,and yes..I will do it again as early as this Fri night at the Jackson car cruise where they have a legal burn out spot we'll see what the finished s-10..355..NOS..4:88 and 37" MTRs will do.

First couple of years were fun. But it got crazy so the cops had to clamp down. People sliding sideways in the curb lane while people were standing in the street. Disaster waiting to happen.

That said, the first year of the cruise, in my stock YJ cruising with the wife and kids, a copious amount of bleach happened to be on the street surface. 4-low and a 4WD burn was awesome. Had that Jeep sitting there smoking the place up. Great crowd applause too. Finally had to back off when it started going sideways and a little too close to the crowd.
Anything less in a stock Jeep is very lame.
