I use a sundial and the stars. I'm usually pretty accurate, down the the state... usually. Always 100% right as to what continent I'm on. With this whole sun/solar flip thing, I think I just have to do the same upside down, and i'll be good.

The 276 is the old chipset and will wander under heavy canopy, the newer units don't have those issues.
I'm seeing a ton of them on sleds (it's #1 customer unit these days).

Of course if you are happy with that unit, then great and more power to you. We moved my father inlaw from a 276 to a Montana in 2011 and he's been very happy with it (bike, quad and sled).
Wow, that is way different reviews then I have read online.. Maybe I will grab one and see how it works out, I can always sell my 276 if I decide the Montana is better.

I do use external antennas (non powered) and I rarely (if ever) have signals drop out.

Kelly, you should leave your fancy direction thingy at home and come sledding with us sometime, it can be quite an adventure.
You sound like the guy each year that flags me down begging to use my external fuel tank because he got lost and is out of gas.

Where can I get updated maps for the 276C? I did a group buy on here (or the other Jeeper site) probably 8 years ago with you, but can't find updated map software for it...

I arranged that group buy on here.

I'm running the City Navigator NT maps on mine. They work fine.

WTF are you talking about, he only goes in circles in his backyard. Must have high tech gear, you lose sight of the house if you go behind the pole barn.

Yea. I have the 478 and love the hell out of it for off road and on the water.

Not as nice on the road because of no voice command or touch screen.

But totally bulletproof and super long battery life.

I like how they handed it to customs, and customs took 8 minutes to approve it.

I've ordered rc car parts from China that took as long, but my lipo batteries did slow it up pretty good in customs lol.
