We have it at my shop. It's good for work where I'm not using it much but would never get it for home use.

Speed test shows.

813 ms ping
2 - 5 MB Download
.33 upload

It's okay with SD video but stutters with HD. And gaming is pretty much a no go.

Also, data caps suck.

Wow that ping time is horrid. It's about as fast as an old man getting out of a rocking chair to answer a door.

Yeah, that pretty much goes hand in hand with satellite internet.

I just switched from Hughs to Dish. The salesman said it would be 5X faster. Well, it's not. It's just as good, but no faster. Also it's $10 more a month which isn't a big deal, but had to sign a 2 year contract. Now I've seen a post on facebook saying that Dish has a "data limit" this lady says she used up her monthly limit on day 16 of the month. I'll be talking to dish....already wishing I had stayed with Hughs which was cheaper, no contract, and no limit for basically the same speed.

I have nothing good to say about Dish Network.

My 2 year contract with them will be up in November, and I will never do any business with that company again.

Satellite internet sucks. I recently ditched Hughesnet and am very glad I did. Slow, unreliable and their download allowance crap is very annoying. I went with Verizons 4g homefusion. A whole lot faster and when it rains or gets really cloudy I can still use the internet.
