yeah- and expensive. Another set of doves are already located. Just not looking forward to porting in the summer heat. I don't have the cash for a nice set this year and I want to drive it.

hopefully that will be a viable upgrade next winter.

Well I picked up the replacement head Thursday night and started tearing it down and plugging therm ports last night. I spent about 10 hours today hogging on it and it's done and ready for a trip to the machine shop.

It even turned out looking pretty good! Head on the right is the cracked one for sizing references today.

And yes, I looked like a beat coal miner by the time I finished up.

Now I've taken a cold shower, had a burger and a couple beers and I'm ready for bed.

OK- it's been a long a$$ summer. Ended up replacing both heads! Anyways, it's back together and running like a top. We have a few little items to button up tonight and then the hood is going back on. Tomorrow night we'll get the big tires on it and give it a bath.
I'll be in the dunes this Saturday and Sunday breaking it in (or just breaking it) if anyone wants to check it out.

Are you going to buy them for me for Christmas?

Yesterday I spent the morning just getting some seat time in and running it through some warm-up/cool-down cycles and adjusting the timing as the rings began to seat. By 3 in the afternoon it was really starting to build some serious power.
I'm exceptionally pleased with the end results. I still need to get a bigger carb and tie up a few more loose ends, but all I can say is WOW! It's is an amazing feeling to have such an obscene amount of power on tap. Hill climbing or racing; this thing is going to be a serious contender by the time I'm done with it.
