Yes you are.

We had the summer tent last year. It sucked.

Good luck.

Bring a few electric blankets.

The only thing that saved us is that it didn't rain. If it had rained it would have been 100x worse...

Actually we will take our truck camper. I just wonder if the gutless wonder can lug that thing and the fat pig JK up there.

We did the tent thing last year. It got down below freezing at night and our tent was a summer tent. The little heater we had didn't do a damn thing to keep it warm.

I don't know how well the JK would fit. I'm pretty sure the bathroom would have to go.

Either way... I'm sure my neighbors already hate the used car lot I have. I can't imagine that would go over well with anyone.

So, is anyone (Jim?) running a semi stocker run that a fullsize could squeeze into?

Reason I ask is just in case I don't get the rig ready, I always have my Excursion. I don't care about scratches or anything, it's basically my DD/beater/work truck.

Two situations exist on my trails that I would be afraid to take a bus like the Excursion on. The first one is where my trail skirts the edge of the Pancake River. If might not be too bad except for the fact if you broke over the edge you would plummet 150 to the river. The other situation (which occurs at least 10 times) is SUPER steep ravines where bridges have been removed. Going down to the bottom and then up the other side you would 'bridge' the two sides with both your bumpers. Even Jim R was catching his spare tire with his 4dr JK. Any long overhang vehicle will have problems.
I'll go see if there are some pics from the spring run that show this.

It's kinda like this except the water is WAAAAAAY farther away and DEEPER!

And like this except some were steeper and deeper V, this was the only pic from May I could find.

Oh, and there is a fair chance the Excursion will be locked front and rear and on 37's with double beadlocks by then, so it wouldn't be all "stock"

I've never doubted your 'wheeling skilz' Keith, it the submarine that you'd be wheeling that worries me. It won't fit without recurving your sheetmetal in MANY of the zig-zag trails that I'll be running. This trail hasn't probably been run in 15-20 years with a full size vehicle. It's probably seen some quad/SxS use though. As evidence that beaver dams are still in place and the GREAT washouts that exist on No-Bridge.

I also get this. But as a point of reference, a few years ago when Bob DeVore brought his H2 on 37's, there was a soft spot on an incline that all of us drove over without sinking in more than a couple inches.................. until Bob. He sank it to the frame and we needed 2 winches with snatch blocks to pull him up the grade.

Well by all means I do not plan to wheel the Excursion up there. The Sami should be ready in time. If, and only if it is not, I will still come up and do some on-road exploring/helping out around camp.

I understand the worry (and dare I say hate?) for fullsize rigs, however I do feel events like these should take them into consideration as well. Jeeps themselves are getting bigger with each generation, and besides the Wrangler, the only U.S. built solid axle vehicles anymore are fullsize trucks. I am seeing a trend of people building bigger rigs, expo rigs, camping type rigs etc. and feel it will only grow.

Now I'm not saying we need to fire up the chainsaws and widen the trails, but instead find some appropriate routes for maybe one or two fullsize runs instead of planning to exclude them alltogether from big events like this.
