i went there. the traffic killed me. i would have been about 10 to 15 mins late when i got in the door. would have had to park across the street in the farmers market lot by pauls jeep, city building lot was full.

i did not see any straglers milling in late. i did not want to walk in late, and interrupt the meeting. look like a jerk doing that! so i split. sorry! left my house an hour b4 the meeting, its only 31 miles. 75 and 24 were both real slow!

Hello, here to help with Oxford ORV area, a very close home owner, and off roader. Dump the dirt bike's and this thing might fly. No scramble area, trails and challenge coarse only, 4x4 vehicles only. This is a very high residential area.

Thanks for chiming in and all other local residents too. I don't see the DNR excluding bikes. It's intended as a full service OHV park. What I do see is a mandate for sound checks at the gate just like at Silver Lake. I understand that the local residents are concerned about noise but that doesn't carry as much weight as everyone might think. Otherwise places like Waterford Hill Race track and DTE music theater wouldn't be around. People have complained for years about the high speed loud boats on Lake Oakland with no success. The issue will be if the noise is EXCESSIVE because our society realizes that part of life includes noise.

The park system and engineering firm understand that noise will be an issue and that is why there were points in the presentation about noise mitigation. That's also why a part of the planning phase will include noise testing in which the locals will be invited to participate.

After the meeting, I cornered one of the loud guys that was disrupting the meeting in the beginning. After about 15 minutes, he was nodding his head yes and shook my hand. He actually told me that he has a Rubicon, thought it was a good idea and would use the park but the only reason he was against it was because he didn't want to make his neighbors mad at him.

I expect the locals to rally more of their neighbors for the next meeting which is why we need to rally more of the PRO - OHV locals to offset them.

Thanks again to all who came out!

Just because you keep forgetting where you made your last post and keep starting new threads does not mean I have to play along!

The master plan is not finalized but currently I don't see any reason that they would be closing the park during the winter months.
