Great weekend for riding, On Saturday We left Grand Rapids at 10 am, worked our way to the Blue Lake Tavern for a late lunch, Then over to Muskegon for Bike Time, then back to GR by 10pm. Put in 250 miles with our gang.

We are pretty Bad Ass,....

Then Today I got to take my Daughter for a ride through Ada and Cascade. We stopped at the Covered Bridge park in Ada.

I am pretty honored that at 18, she will still do stuff with the ole Man!

Great weekend all around!

I'll play. Just sold my mega chopped 82 yami virago 920 and picked up an old man owned incredibly clean 2005 Yamaha Vmax 20th anniversary edition. I love it, it scares the shit out of me.

Did I not get the memo that apes were cool on bikes with fairings? I've seen probably 6 or so bikes with batwing style fairings lately that have super tall apes on them. They look soooooooo retarded.

haha. At least they don't look out of place on a non-faired bike. With the fairing though, they look ridiculous.

So, I threw the sporty up on c-list after riding it for a little while. The main plan was to flip it in the long run. I rode my fz6 after riding the sporty for a week and it was like night and day. smooth and comfy on the fz6 vs. vibey and cramped on the sporty. The sportster is seriously fun to ride, but not for long periods of time, I've found.

Anyway, I had a lady email me about it:

Her: That is the ugliest sporty I have ever seen.
Why would you take off the forward controls ?
Just plain stupid........
Good Luck

Who the hell wastes their time and emails people to talk shit about the stuff they are selling?

Well, for fun, and to waste my time I responded:

I didn't take off the forward controls, but I wouldn't have bought it with them. You have better control of the motorcycle with them (mids). I wouldn't expect a simpleton like you to understand that, though.

Sent from my iPhone

She wrote back:

Hello Dickhead......
If you were a true Harley Rider you know it's about what looks better not if you have better control.....All sportster customs come with forward control........
You probably wear a helmet also.......DickHead.....lol

Sent from my iPad

Lol.

Me: Ahh, form before function, you must be a "true Harley rider". Yep, I do value my life and motor skills, so I do wear a helmet. I guess I'm not your typical Harley fashionista. You probably shouldn't even be looking at sportsters though, because a real Harley rider, like yourself, knows that sportsters are real pussy bikes.

Also, may I remind you, that you emailed me to tell me that the bike I had was ugly and stupid, so I think you're the dickhead in this situation, XXXXXXXX.

Name withheld to protect the stupid.

Finally got me a new ride today!

It's a Bashan BS48Q-2....That's what the sticker says.
49cc clone of the Honda cub
4 speed Automatic
It hauled my butt @40 on a quick trip down the road (registration is not quite turned over so couldn't go to far)

Best part.....It was given to me.

It's a fun little bike to ride around camp and I'm sure it will be nice for grocery getting once we get it fully street legal....

Which brings me to a question. The guy I got the bike from had it registered like a moped but it has an automatic transmission and can do almost 50MPH. Anybody have a link to the laws that pertain to classifications? (I'm lazy) .

Anything that gay has to be a moped....

I'm pretty sure anything less than x cc is a moped... not sure if its 100 cc or what though.

If it's an automatic, why does it have a gear shift lever?

Now you've got me on the look for my next project. I'm going to try and score a puch for little or nothing and build it up.

P.S. anybody interested in a sporty?

I'll trade you straight up. .

I had a Puch powered moped back in high school/beginning of college.

My uncle gave it to us in the 90's. It's a Jcpenny Brand "Swinger 2". I sold it to some college student who wanted to 'pimp it out'. Almost wish I didn't.

Too bad. In my opinion, the swinger looks cooler than the maxi. No trade on the sporty, however. Just cold hard cash. I almost hate to sell it, but I don't NEED 2 road bikes.

I washed, clay bar, waxed and polished the ol girl this morning. She shined up pretty nice! Hopefully I can get out for a ride sometime this afternoon.
