When I was between the age of 13 and 15 I wrecked thousands of mail boxes.

When I bought my first house on MacCarther road the first night we stayed there some one chopped my mail box up with an Axe.

I have been burdened by many destroyed mail boxes over the years,

I have just made stronger and stronger boxes to mitigate the abuse.

I am certain there is a mail box karma god.

For one SS is a moron. For two, destroying mail boxes is a federal offence, costs way more than spare change and a flash light and also causes time / labor to fix. You did not get caught, but AJ did. You probably did 1000 x $50 = $50,000 in damages. In my eyes, you would be 10000 x more of a POS than AJ. Why aren't you the new poster boy for poor decision?

Just to clarify, this has nothing to do with Dougstephvoor, just making a point. AJ may not be the sharpest spoon in the drawer but just about EVERYONE on here has done worse than him as a kid, including me.

Well fukc you guys too.

Sorry I don't see child seats as made of fucking steel and titanium. Guess I'm the dumbass for believing that you don't let the most important piece of safety equipment you put it in your car to protect your infant or toddler roll around in the bed of a truck.

Sorry, if sitting (even sliding around) in the back of a pick up will hurt the structure of my kids child seat then I don't want the POS. They are made out of the same material as helmets and designed to take abuse (similar to a car accident). Admit you are a dumb ass and this will all go away.

Actually I don't have to admit to anything. I haven't done anything wrong.

Take care of your children's safety equipment. Pretty basic and common sense stuff. You have a problem with that assertion. I don't care. I've seen enough child seat recalls for defects in materials pop up on the news (not to mention all of the other "safety" product recalls) over the years that I don't put much faith into modern workmanship. Not putting a child seat in the bed of a truck seems like a pretty reasonable step to take.

I've never seen the Pub to be used as a forum for arguing on safety probability issues of child-car seats and the possible abuse suffered from storage.

Can we stick with name-calling and other empty threats?

Just to ad more fuel to the debate:

Quote:
NHTSA recommends that car seats be replaced following a moderate or severe crash in order to ensure a continued high level of crash protection for child passengers. Car seats do not automatically need to be replaced following a minor crash.

What defines a minor crash? A minor crash is one in which ALL of the following apply:

The vehicle was able to be driven away from the crash site.
The vehicle door nearest the car seat was not damaged.
None of the passengers in the vehicle sustained any injuries in the crash.
If the vehicle has air bags, the air bags did not deploy during the crash and
There is no visible damage to the car seat.

Never use a car seat that has been involved in a moderate to severe crash. Always follow manufacturer’s instructions.
http://www.safercar.gov/parents/GetHelp.htm

So, in the bed of a truck, a car seat [I]might[I] have more stress put on it than a minor crash. Secured like AJ said, I kinda doubt it.
