So I typed out a bunch then decided to condense it.

It just seems like a lot of people the gun is the first choice instead of last. None of our grandfathers were afraid to take a punch or give one out. Man up god dammit.

I understand your frustration. When this happened my CPL was still shiny new and I think I was a little eager to put it to use. I will say that had I not been carrying it could have ended in a fistfight but because I had my weapon I didn't want to risk losing it and it being turned on me. I honestly wasn't prepared like I should have been and really shouldn't have been carrying. I know better now and am more mentally prepared because of this incident.... Believe me I played it over a million times I my head.

You just explained exactly the reason many of us have CPLs.....because for A LOT OF PEOPLE the gun is the first choice. I can take and throw a punch just fine, but how do I know the other guy isn't one of the ones who will go for a firearm or knife instead of his fists? Granted, I'm not one to get into altercations and can usually avoid them or talk them down if they do happen, but other people are unpredictable. Better to be safe than sorry. I like having the option to use my force multiplier, though I hope I never need to.

Not that I ever want to be in a situation where I need it, but I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Only problem is I still have to acquire a gun I'd like to carry. I don't think my hand-me-down Ruger Mark II quite fits the bill. Fun gun though.

My hands are licensed as lethal weapons. I partially conceal them with black fingerless gloves.

The Michigan Police Equipment Co. In Charlotte Mi. Has the S&W M&P Shield for $330 but you need to get out a waiting list. I've been waiting 2 months now.

I have a CPL, and use to carry all the time. I was out salmon fishing, got a big fish on, and tragically, lost my G27 in 300 ft of water. Damn shame.

I carry a M&P shield in .40, a xd sub compact in .40, and have a 5 screw model 10 in .38.

It hasn't "helped" me and I hope it never does. I carry pretty often. Had it for 4 years.

Damn skippy you got mad skilz if you can get down to 300 feet. Deepest I've gone is 130, and that was enough for me.

at this rest stop near Ypsilanti,

http://goo.gl/maps/ar1l8

I drove up and looked around as I normally am very contientious of where I am and who is around before I get in and out, I noticed there was one trashy white woman leaning against a car, I figured she was there prostituting her self and I continued in, next to the vending machines was a big buck, I went into the stall and after 30 seconds or so I noticed through the crack in the divider he was standing outside of the stall door,
He coughed a few times and I looked through the crack again and there was a second skinny buck. I buttoned up my pants got back in my wheel chair spun around and peeked through the crack next to the door to see them both standing there looking at the door.

I drug out my device, and set there quietly peeking through the crack at them for what seamed like eternity, after a minute I quietly cocked the hammer back, which is very loud. There was another moment of silence, the two bucks shuffled out of the mens rest room, I waited a couple of minutes peeking out the crack, to see that they were both gone, after a couple of minutes, I went out to the truck, the trashy slut and the two bucks were standing there watching closely. I got in my truck rolled the window down and said you folks have a nice day and drove away.

I am certain that those guys were going to roll me in that rest stop,

Nothing bad occurred, and I like it that way.

I know you've taken a beating on this but a two foot there is no way your getting that gun out of the holster in time. When you uncovered the pistol you were luck he wasn't carrying to it would have been tense.
It sounds like things worked out ok but if things go south put some distance between you two.

You are an attention whore, and being as young as you are that open carry made you a huge target, sure hope you have been taught weapon retention, if not good luck buddy!

Depending on how I am dressed and where I am going I carry a PT140, an LC9 or the .380 Bodyguard. Of the 3, I carry the little 380 most. I love that thing.
