With stock clutching its on the rev limiter somewhere between 70 and 75. I don't remember exactly because I was going off a GPS as the speedo is off a little. Hoping to impoverished bottom end with a clutch kit probably slow it down at the top a little.

A loaded Rzr has thrills. Nothing major. In years past it wa power steating, graphics and shocks. I believe power stearing with be a base option. Better shocks and gauges are alomst a given along with "limited" colors. Right now as that is a leaked picture it's all speculation.

I follow the new market close. Mainly because its fun to see such a young market evolve while being involved. Watching marketing giants vary so wildly interest me. Right now it's so spread out that the sky is the limit. I predict it will settle in 3-5 years but hell the sport quad market just took new life with true sport 4x4's in the last few years.

i had the 900xp new off the showroom floor. what a dumb idea that was. but, did it once, never again. the bang for the buck on these things is WAY out of line. i'd go buy a used Rubicon or something similar for the amount of money the want for these go karts. not to mention the lack of quality in many areas of the machine.

Agreed, I like these sport SxS vehicles, but for $20-25k you can get a nice used 2-door JKR that is usable all year long. I'll still be watching for used RZR XPs as they drop in price, like the RZRs did when the XP came out.

Rather have a jeep XJ or ZJ with a lift and 33's and lockers and save the other 20k.

Not disagreeing but in this market segment (SXS and 4 seat SXS), is there one that is more fun and durable?

No question, sheet metal screws shouldn't be there, exhaust heat damaging the body work (and that's only a couple examples) and the detail work should be better.

Pricing, could be considered gouging, but consider the economy of scale the automotive industry enjoys. Alas, until someone else starts selling a perceived better product at a significantly lower price, Polaris will keep selling these at whatever price the market will bear.

And to those comparing a RZR to a Jeep; it's not the same type of entertainment - both have their place.

I can get a hole lot of entertainment for that extra 20K is all I am saying. Like for instance buying a boat. Lot more "entertainment" when I can cruise the trails in the woods and go everywhere I can in a razor(all wide trails up here) and then use it to haul my boat to the lake where I can spend my afternoon kicking back on the water. This is just one of the many examples on how to get more for your money rather than buying a overpriced ranger.

Or I could have a razor that I just drove around on the road just like a jeep, and take it off road like a jeep and at the end of the day it can be a nice garage ornament, but hey at least the dust can settle somewhere right?

I'm looking forward to seeing how these things perform. My old RZR's were a blast, and one with more suspension travel and double the HP from the factory sounds very tempting. The 900 was decent stock, but it didn't have enough for me to justify upgrading from my S model.

25k is expensive for a toy, but these things are great for trails, dunes, light utility work, mud, mild rock crawling, hunting, etc...they are extremely capable stock, and the aftermarket support is insane (well, it is for the previous models and Im sure the 1000 will be the same). So it's not like you are getting a speciality rig that's only good at one thing like a sand rail, rock crawler, etc. That's how I justify the cost to myself at least ;)

Man it's going to be tough to keep my xp4 and not unload in soon. The xp4 market should be stable for a few more months.

I was thinking the same thing, but it's going to take a bit of cash to get an XP 900 to match the performance of the new 1000 (hp and suspension), and you will have a warranty to go with it.

LOL!!!! Or more weed to extend that high you're on.

EDIT: Sorry, that was an old post, but it's probably still accurate, as you're probably still coming down off that high!

wow, great rebuttal and contribution to the conversation!
Anyways I've drove them, not the 1000 however, they are overpriced, and over rated but that's just my 2 cents. Spend the money however you want or not at all, I'm just staying that extra money can buy a lot more fun. Lots of nice decent boats out there for 5 grand, I would rather buy a boat, and a nice ready to go jeep and save the other 5 grand before I bought a razor for 20 grand.

I've only drove a quad a couple of times and I thought it was fun but 20K + is fucking outrageous.
