Default 88 Suzuki Samurai (Stocker) for sale - Michigan

****SOLD****For Sale – 1988 Suzuki Samurai soft top

Solid body, rust free - originally from Texas, only minor scratches and 1 or 2 small dents. Stock engine & transmission. Engine has plenty of power, four wheel drive works good & transmission shifts smooth. Has a front end shake but otherwise drives great – no leaks but does need an exhaust. Interior intact, but needs a lot TLC. It needs new door handle release cables – (only opens from the inside on passenger side and driver’s side works randomly). I have all the pieces for the soft top and it's in pretty good shape. No idea how many miles are one it, spedo hasn't worked since we've owned it (12 years) we drove it less than 50 miles a year - if that. Stored in a barn.

Sold! In case you're wondering...Rubilooe bought it. :o)

Sorry Razmiblack...

Everyone that posted here also sent me a PM and direct email, which I replied to. It didn't occur to me to reply here also. It's actually not sold yet. :o)

I've had an unexpected response..lots of guys want this & I'm not quite sure how to handle it fairly...I think what we are going to do is post more close up pictures - interior - exterior - engine compartment & chassis as best as I can get when we get up to the cabin next Friday and give everyone a chance to offer what they want. We will also be up there early on Friday so anyone is welcome to stop by & take it for a ride & check it out.

Sound fair?

Vee

you also emailed saying you would call on Friday after 5, but never did, and no I don't think turning a f/s item into an auction is fair.

as said, first cash...

Default Samurai for Sale

I'm sorry about that. I had unexpected visitors in my driveway when I got home from work last night that stayed pretty late.

So...help me out here. I've had several PMs and emails from each of the interested parties. All willing to pay asking price & come get it right away. How is it fair for me to say 1st one to my house wins! One guy is on the west side of the state, one guy lives about 10 miles away...not sure where the others are. I'm really not trying to make anyone angry or be greedy...just trying to be fair. Wouldn't you be angry if I said 1st one here gets it and the guy that lives 10 miles away runs right over and you hop in your car & drive 200 miles only to find out it's sold?

In addition, I've had 2 guys offer more than asking price before I was even able to answer their emails...shouldn't they get 1st dibs? Not sure what else to do to be fair. If you had someone offer more than asking, what would you do?

As bad as i may want it, Id would tell the person who has offered the most or the one who emailed first to come and get it. Thats just my view. Im sure everyone has there own opinion tho.

He's giving it away and everyone wants it. Someone usually ends up butthurt in these situations no matter what.

I do agree with this, and no, I did not offer more, so I would not be that person getting it. I really hate when someone puts something up for sale, then finds out they may have under priced it, and want to turn the sale into an auction.

If they did any research first they should have had a better starting price.

Actually I did try to do research, but didn't find anyone willing to tell me what it was really worth. I got answers like...it's worth what someone is willing to pay, what's it worth to you...that kind of stuff. And, my posts were removed by moderators on 2 sites and I was not granted permission to post on 3 more. I guess because people were looking to get a deal & didn't want to be honest. I originally thought it would be worth $500-600 bucks & was asking opinions if guys thought that was too much! I finally did get someone to send me a PM from the Zuwharrie site and he said that $1,400 was a fair price for the east coast so that's what I went with.

I'm really sorry how this went down, it totally was not my intention to cause such a ruckus. This is starting to stress me out! I have a stressful life and I certainly wasn't looking to add more.

So let me ask all of you...who will honestly tell me on this forum what it's really worth? Step back, look at the situation from my point of view and then tell me what you think the fair thing to do is for everyone (including me).

Whats the current status of the sale? Is it still on the market for 1400? Is it up for auction via email? If so, what is it up to? I gather you dont want to sell it for 1400 anymore. How many people are on the waiting list.

To put it simply, if one of us wanted to buy it, what would we have to do?

If the price is more than your original listing post, I suggest you move the sale off this site.. to one more appropriate like craigslist... you can jew people over there.
