Default Bike build 82 Twinstar

I picked up this 82 Honda cm200 with the intention of just throwing on some clubman bars and cleaning it up a bit until my girlfriend was ready to ride it. The day started out with replacing the handlebars and it has now snowballed into a project. Her dad and I decided we want to do a budget cafe racer and we made a little progress today. This is my first road bike, luckily the old Hondas a fairly simple. The only issue were really having is possibly eliminating the battery. I'm not sure if I just throw a capacitor on there in place f the battery or if that will work. If anyone has any advice on that it is much appreciated. Or if anyone has any helpful tips or recommendations it would help out a newbie. While this bike is pretty simple, it's not quite as easy as building a mx race bike.

Cheers!

Cafe racers are more than just clubman bars. Pay attention to your details they make the difference. I wouldn't get rid of the battery if I were you. As far as tips, just ask questions

Thanks hancho,

I'd like this to be rideable within the next week or two, so we will likely be cutting corners on details until winter.

I suppose I used cafe racer as too broad of a term. I'm planning on doing some fabricating of the gas tank and possibly a cafe style seat pan. As stated before, I'm pretty ignorant to this stuff. I'm mostly going off of what I've seen on google images and the shop in Ypsi.

Not until my windjammer fairing shows up. I want to have purple rain (by Prince) playing LOUD when I ride my junker around.

"Finished" it a couple weeks ago. Forgot to post pics as I did little things here and there. It's not perfect but it's a fun little bike to ride and someone to learn on.
