My father inlaw has a jeep he wants $2200 for it. I am sure he will take $2000 for it.
1979 CJ5
304 T176 4sp not sure what tcase
It has a new gas tank and sending unit.
It has newer rancho rear shocks.
The shifter just had the 3rd to 4th shift fork replaced.
I does not have doors.
It has a bikini top only,

It needs a high beam switch (for the high beams to work) and a headlight (it just burned out the other day) to be road legal. It needs a heater core, a top, and doors if you want to drive it all year round. He was driving it last summer until the gas tank went. The tank was replaced this spring. I had been driving around my property until the shifter finally stopped working so I replaced the shift fork and it seems to work good now. I have been driving it around my property and a little up and down my road. It seems to run ok and the 4wd works. One lockout is a little tight and hard to turn but it works fine.

I have seen this Jeep and it really is a nice looking CJ 5 and for the year it is in surprisingly good condition. I even considered buying it myself but my fat ass just does not work well in a 5.

Thanks Denny. I have the same problem with the cj5 also. A tilt wheel would help a lot. lol.
