is this office new? My boss had to drive to Chicago during a snow storm for his passport in jan or feb 2011, he got stranded for a night in Kzoo cause his Mustang had no traction

Then again that may have been for his French passport.
or maybe he just didn't know. LOL

Damn sounds like a nice trip. No insight on a passport though. Take pics! Would love to see them.

In April, my wife and daughter got theirs in 13 days and didn't pay expediting fees.

Like everybody already stated, the only way to be sure is to head to the main in Detroit.

If you can, got to Vancouver Island, you can hop a seaplane to Nanaimo. Absolutely beautiful place to visit without all the usual 'touristy' crap.

I had this view from my hotel window.... I was awoke each morning at 9am by the sound of seaplanes.... very nice

Both of my last 2 passports have been overnights. You pay a lot, but its possible. It must be done in person, so they check which offices have an opening, they overnight your passport there before 10am, their guy stands in line and gets it, then they overnight it back before 10am. In my case last time, it was sent to Miami, next day, sent to Chicago to get the Chinese embassy papers, then back here on the 3rd day before 10am. $660 for that combo.

Where in BC? You can fly to Seattle and drive to BC with an enhanced DL. I have done this because there was a $700 difference between a ticket to Vancouver and Seattle. The wife and I flew to a wedding there, so $1400 made it worthwhile.

We did ours thru the post office, and had them in 2 weeks expedited. It was around $550 for 2 which included having my birth cert sent from cali. Make sure your BC is passport ready it has to have an embossed seal a serial number and be on paper like a title. That was are only snag was are BC' were real just not passport certified. And we had them take our photos as walgreens and the like dont care about the size. Also we had to wear a plain shirt no writing or logos on it. That was our experience.
