OK! So, pretty much my axle build has been on hold due to work slowing down. I want to get my wheels and tires before I start any work on the font axle so I can figure out exactly what I want to do as far as links and how/where and so forth.

All done for the most part. Just need new shafts, and the fill/inspection plug TIGed in, and to do a small back truss. I'm still deciding if I should shave it or not

but found this in the ball joint hole....not sure how big of an issue it will be though, Im probably getting new crane knuckles for both sides after seeing this, unless i can get it welded and machiened at work.

Until I have the cash to get tires and wheels, I decided to start doing some work to the chassis wiring to clean up the amount of wires going to the doors, to ease door removal.
I wanted to keep the power windows, but not the locks. What went from "ill just pull these out and snip at the harness" turned into "Re wire everything!!!
Ill update that tomorrow, I'm tired, but here is a teaser(a crappy one)

I had gotten antsy and decided to pull the front axle and sell the lift parts (wich hasent sold yet )

My plan for the interior is to keep it simple and functionaal wile retaining a somewhat of a factory feel. So pretty much if the XJ was a CJ (If that makes sense)
The whole wiring cleanup was pretty much an accident, the intention was to just remove the power locks from the doors and cut the wires at the main harness that runs along the tub.....
Well then my A.D.H.D with the help of too much Monster turned in to this.

I discovered there is TONS of extra wires that run from the dash to the tails, I kept the rear wiper/washer, plate light, and the defrost for the hatch. For the tails there was about 4 extra wires that did nothing and I removed the backup lights since my NSS is removed from the trans and is just left in "drive". I plan on adding a fog as a backup later on.
This is about half of what I got out of the harness from the dash to the hach.

So this was my silly little idea. I didn't feel like ordering non stick tape online(I found a place locally after words but o well) , so I got the next best thing.

I made a little razor blade fixture to cut the roll in half so it was about the same as real harness tape just nice and visually annoying
Its probably not the best idea, but its sexy and I tested it for burning next to some real harnes tape and it burned damn near the same so should be good.

When I got the Jeep, I was the pizza dough boy at Papa Romanos, so I was covered in corn oil all day, the shit soaked in to the divers seat and made it damn near water proof.
This is what came out of JUST the drivers seat after a run through the washer.
Headrest one washed one not. Fucking Yuck.
Since the Drivers and Passengers seat foam is the same, I used the best foam from both to put the drivers back together.
To be honest that was all a waste of time since Shes getting a set of suspension seats once the the interior is back together.

Now that I had the harness from the dash back done, it was time for the window shit.
I wanted to make it as simple as possible, wile not making the Jeep look like a space ship with switches all over the place.
My first attempt was to use a set a set of lighted swiches out of a Land Rover but the switches were SPDT and I would have of needed to wire a dick ton of relays (granted that would be better) so I went back to the JY looking in GMs since I knew they had the cool looking chrome switches. When I stumbled upon this bloody perfect set out of an old Burban.
(ignore the sparkly thumb)
I cut out the coin(?) pocket of the console and it snapped in perfect, it just hangs over about .125 on the right corner. I may adjust it later if it bugs me enough.
As for the wires to the doors, I wanted some sort of a clean through connector that could be flush mounted to the door jamb, with a wire that would just come out of the door and clip in.
For some reason, that doesn't exist in a small 2 pin connector, Anything I found was either huge, or 4pin or more. The closest thing I found was these from Deutsch and they are 4pin, and are huge in person. http://forum.ih8mud.com/attachment.p...8&d=1303362681
So I went to Terminal Supply and found out that I could make my own mounting base plate due to the way that Deutsch makes all of their connectors to be able to use many different tie downs and what not.
Got four sets of 2pin connectors. and real harness tape
Made these at work. The connector clips into place, but I may add a dab of sealant around them once done.
They will be welded here.
On the door side I will just use a sealing grommet to feed the wires through, but haven't got that far.(allmost up to date!)
Oh and speaking of welding..
Got this Monster from work, Miller 252.
Of course there was a catch, it needs about $700 of parts. but i figure For $700 I get alot more welder than I would if I payed the quoted $1200 for a Millermatic 180 from Airgas
Oh in my searches for connectors, I found a West Marine not to far from me, and found this cool little thing and decided to replace the Cigar lighter with it.

So at this point I started addressing the failing Hurculiner, I used a DA sander and alot of scapeing with a putty knife. For now I just got everything that was peeling and cleaned and primed the bare metal. I'm still deciding if I want to remove it All and just go paint, or just re Hurc over it all.
Next was to attack the dash, I wanted to see how much wires were back there, and what I could get out. As it turned out, there wasn't much that could be pulled, and from a wire standpoint was a waste of time, other than just knowing what goes where.
Wile I was in there, I pulled the AC core and sealed some gaps up to hopefully help with the the air movement.
Went Full Retard.

With that out there was a big gap that the foam didn't seal to the fire wall, so I used a coffee can lid, some RTV and some interior screws to seal it up. trimmed it after it dried to allow the vac lines to pass througth.
Since there was no back seat for years, I removed the ducting that ran through the center console and patched the hole for it, hopefully it adds a bit more heating power to blow on the floor when the trans hump heat isn't enough.

AAANNNDD that's about it for updates I have most of the dash back together just need to finish getting some wires re-routed and bolt it back in.
The next task is taking apart the steering column to remove the the Park lock cable thing, (I don't like my Jeep telling me when I can or can't turn my Ignition on or put it in park) and start re assembling what I can.
