Mounds = $36.50 is a once per year expense. Then just $11 per day.
Silver lake = $36.50 once per year + $10 tag once per year. So, $46.50 for the entire year. ($3.50 than I just spent for one week of beach access on the outer banks)

Edit** to clarify.

The $36.50 is the same for both mounds, silver lake, and snofari err.. i mean st. helen. I forget that area is wheeled more then just at snofari . So the $36.50 paid once a yr covers all three locations, not $36.50 for one location.

Use off of private property, ie county roads, other's private land.

The case goes "why should somebody pay for trails they don't use". Not a fan of a multi-tier sticker myself. But we do need an increase to cover costs.

More trail on the ground, more workers (volunteers getting minimal reimbursement for the work) doing more work, more grading, etc. Costs to do all of that have increased, the fee has not. The financials show we will be out of money next year.

The current formula specifically calls out a portion to be spent on damage/restoration work. Technically, they have to spend money on such projects.

That said, I despise the closures and "restoration" BS. That money could be spent to address legitimate erosion/related concerns and improve access, not remove access.

This price increase is for the birds, you people that think its long over due have the wool pulled over your eyes. The state never does anything right and the increase will not be used as suggested and they will increase it again and again...I've already pointed out the example of the snowmobile trail permit but looks like you guys can't even look at a real example with real consequences. And just think the pull that the MSA has in this state and even they couldn't stop the state from bastardizing that system

Another question; What happens after 2019:

Quote:
(d) For a license valid for a 12-month period beginning April 1, 2019 or a subsequent April 1, no fee.
Is that just put in there to force them to revisit it?

I know what it is SUPPOSED to be used for. There is nothing that says this money is supposed to be used to closed existing trails, especially through trails that have been there since about the beginning of vehicles.

Your technicality is FIXING things they believed are damaged, which various groups including GLFWDA offered to do long before that trail was raped by chain saws to block it off.

In turn, this is a slap in the face by the DNR. Further, proposals have been made about 4 years ago to add that very hill / trail to the existing ORV Route system in the area along with other trails to connect the three existing sections of Route. Lets guess how much progress that has made.
