Default Help! I need Chevy 12-bolt tech support

I am having 12 bolt issues. I have a '81 12 bolt w 3:73's, will a '71 12 bolt w 4:10's have same internal parts? I need a carrier that is the 4 style for 3:73 and up gears. I know carrier will work if nothing changed over the years in the 12 bolts. Anybody been thru the realm of 12 bolts?
