I have had better luck on craigslist than on here. Just sold a Monte Carlo SS on CL last week only had it posted for one day.

I haven't been having any luck on multiple vehicles, I'll try raising prices I guess.

That's all I do now. I either scrap it or put it at the curb. Not worth my time dealing with the Craigslist hilljacks.

I've had a hard time selling vehicles lately. Thought I had a good lead over the weekend on my motorcycle. Guy wanted $500 less than I was asking, told him I was okay with that, then he asked if I would deliver it 3.5hrs away for free

I just got a call from a guy telling me he would offer $6,000 cash for my car because it doesn't have "rear modulation."

You are a private seller and can not provide on the spot financing. People are more willing to pay more for a car and finance it through the dealer.

Plus, they can't sell their car to buy yours, so they are trading theirs in to pay too much to buy one from the dealer.

( I admit I did this with my current car, I took a loss on a trade in and over paid because it was entirely WAY more convenient. )

Yep. Basically I've come to the realization that selling any vehicle over $10,000 on craigslist, or selling it period, is a waste of time.

People don't realize they can just go get financing from a bank as they are too fucking dumb.

I may just trade it in and be done with it.

I have been trying to sell a few house hold items, dryer $100, weedwacker $20, snowblower $50...... and so on, usually low priced, honest in my posts, just wanting to get rid of some spares and double items to clear up some space. I think because I am honest and up front and not trying to upsell everything no one believes the condition. I even post make me an offer i want them gone, I am pretty much taking the first offers on everything. I dont get understand why no one i buying.

Interesting....I never have had any problems selling on Craigslist or here. I take real good pictures and lots of them. I try to be as very detailed as I can. I figure what is a good/fair price and list it as a FIRM price. It takes the haggling aspect out of it, and sometimes I think the buyer feels more comfortable. I have sold a lot of stuff over the years and almost always the first person to come look at it buys it......Maybe it's just luck or my charming personality

many are developing a fear that any online transactions may be monitored by the feds and then you'll be forced to fess up to the IRS about it.

the lowballers get on my nerves...not that there's anything wrong with making an offer, but be reasonable. I was selling a bike for a FAIR price of $700 a little while back and had offers of $200, $350... I mean really? the day after i sold it a guy offered $250, and when I laughed and said "sorry, I sold it yesterday...for $700" he got all kinds of pissed and said "well take your fucking add down then!!"...

It can take me a while to sell something; that is usually caused by my lack of willingness to be lowballed; generally when I sell something I put the price at what I actually want to get for it...dumb i guess but I get to tired of people who do nothing but say "oh I only have $xx; what's your lowest cash; take $xx and meet me...etc". By saying $xx firm, no trades, and letting them know right away that I can meet them (depending on distance) it generally weeds out the lowballers that want everything for nothing. The trade off is that it usually takes me a long time to sell something; which i'm cool with.

That being said I just sold a 6' rotary cutter that needed a gear box for $100, a guy called and bought it less than 3 hours later, price was right, I didn't mess around with the add, took pics, etc.....was a rare find to have a buyer that knows it's already a good deal and is actually looking to buy. On craigslist too

My realtor called me and laughed before telling me an offer on my house but said he wanted to make sure I had the opportunity. I countered with $35K over the asking price, and my realtor was happy to deliver my counter. He did stop short of getting video for me though. Apparently lowballers don't like to be highballed.

I put the Treyvonator up on MGO for $300 (more than I paid for it new) and it was sold in an hour and a half. There's a guy still trying to sell his used one for $350

People are all about cheap shit right now.

It's your fault for writing in paragraph form.

I write one sentence at a time, and double space.

I'm not being a dick.

It really works.

I don't get near as many dumb questions as I used to.

I have been looking for a car on craigslist for 2 months now for a friend of mine. Every time we come across one we like it has been sold already and that is within hours of the ad being posted. So I guess some people are having luck on craigslist
