Default 10 Wonderful Years

So this Friday I have been married to my beatiful wife for 10 years. I am looking for really nice hotel/area to take he Friday after work. Unforunately we can make a.weekend out of it due to a graduation party in the thumb Saturday.

Ideas...suggestions.

I was thinking of a nice hotel that over looks a river or lake....nice area to walk and visit...really nice place for dinner.

Edison Inn in Port Huron.

Found a link. It looks like it was bought by the Hilton chain and renovated this year.

http://doubletree3.hilton.com/en/hot...EDT/index.html

Never mind, I just saw on the link they are still closed and plan to open in July. Sorry.

I think St. Clair Inn is the name of the place I stayed last year. Nice old hotel right on the river and already up towards the thumb

That place isn't too bad. I live about five miles from it. Although dinner across the street at Pepper Joes will probably be better.

I was going to suggest the St. Clair Inn as well. I've never stayed there but have ate there a few times (about a decade ago though) and it was always good.

Unless they have updated in the last year or so I would not say this is a really nice place. Great location but the rooms are getting pretty dated. Price is not bad and I really do not spend much time there so it works for me but I would have a hard time recommend it to someone looking fior that special place.

If you don't mind a bit of a drive. The Huron House between Oscoda and Tawas is a very nice B&B. We like it a lot. It's on Lake Huron and they bring breakfast to your room.
