If I have to prepay or use a card, I usually leave. That's city style bullshit and it irritates the shit outta me.

Anywhere not in Detroit. Move out of Detroit and you will see some places still have more good people than bad. I rarely see a pre pay station unless it on my way to or from meeting out of state. Or in Detroit Lansing flint ect.

I don't live in Detroit I do work there. I fill up there because it usually 15-20cents per gallon cheaper

Tell him to give his shoes to you. That usually gets a F you and they sit around until the next person pulls up. Maybe the idiot won't run out of fuel next time.

I give people in need food not fuel. Well, unless they have something on there dash like I want like a ipod or something then I will gladly give them $20. Driving 8-10 hours a day any new music is worth every penny.

You can always put a trash bag on the pump so people won't pull up and the idiot will stand there for a hour trying to figure it out.

I live 15 min south of GR.
Most stations around my house dont have prepay. If they do have prepay and you try to start the pump most employies will start the pump if they recognize you, or you look like you will pay.

I have been approached around ann arbor with the "college kid trying to get home" line and "visiting sick family at u of m hospital" or "just need a couple bucks for a radiator hose. Sometimes by the same dude. I said "How's that niece you were visiting last week at the hospital?" He walked away...

Does the CIA have an office in Detroit?

If gas takes another jump like I seen today, I may have to try this.

Oh well. If I want to drive, I have to pay.

Whenever a panhandler asks me for spare change/gas/food-money/whatever I always offer up a job opprotunity for the day. Here's my favorite..."you need some cash? No prob. Our jobsite is right around the corner. We've got some demo work and construction clean up work, the boss is looking to add another guy to the crew, follow me!" They ALWAYS decline actual work for $$$.

People still pay cash for gas and have to worry about pre-pay?

Before someone brings up "cash only" pricing... I refuse to go to any station that has differing prices for cash and credit. Guess what, you can go a bit further down the road and find a station that doesn't gouge you for using credit. I've never run into a situation where I can't find gas within 3 miles that wasn't the same price (or cheaper) than the other station's "cash only" price.
