GM will revise the Pontiac and Olds nameplate just as often enough so that no one else can claim them, just as Ford did with Cobra.

Time will tell if they are ever relevant again.

I really liked my Magnum. I kinda regret getting rid of it.

GM is just rebadging the G8 now, the new chevy SS is made by holden just like the G8. They also offer holden comodore in a wagon, with the 6.0 & and a SIDI diesel. That wagon would be stiff competion for the magnum.

The Magnum is out of production.

The only way you'd see Pontiac back would've required GM to take the next step with the dealership glut by eliminating even more and having GM dealers and Cadillac dealers. Sporty models (except Corvette which would be its own brand and not a Chevy) would be Pontiacs, luxury models would be Buicks, family commuters would be Chevys, etc... Olds might fit as a niche, but still overlaps too much with Buick.

The wagon looks like a Volvo.

That UTE reminds me of the Subaru Baja.
To small to to be used as a truck, irs, and no "work" gear ratio to speak of. Your better off just buying the wagon. At least your junk will stay dry. Subaru's in general are cool. But, most people will admit the baja was a mistake.

I'd buy the Ute with a big fat v8 if I didn't have kids. Go fast and haul dirt bikes? Fuck yes.

if they bring the badge back it'll be for one-off performance cars with a seperate low volumne manufacturing facility as per the viper. no way they're gonna recreate the division.
they are going to have to concentrate on high volumne/quality, low cost vehicles to combat honda, kia et al. slightly upscale pontiac/olds ain't gonna get them market share.
and the way the economy is going, added to age group demographics there's not going to be that many folks with enough $$ to progress from chevy to pontiac to buick to olds to caddy.
and the commitment to the feds about 40+ mpg fleet fuel economy is going to put pressure on chevy to sell a lot of small high milage autos which will squeeze out the lower milage pontiacs and olds.

I would have loved the SSEI wagon... but I think that looks badass. I love many wagons though period.

Jack usually has 2-3 of those on his lot over the past few years. If I recall correctly they sticker near $90k.

That's a lot of coin for a Camaro SS in an "nostalgia" package for those that have a CB Call sign of "The Bandit"
